Thrive With Alenoosh Physiology-led health coaching for women in midlife. Supporting strength, metabolism, and energy stability as hormonal patterns shift.

Lifestyle support that works with midlife physiology — on its own, or alongside medical and therapeutic care. I work with women navigating hormonal transition where effort no longer produces predictable results. My work focuses on how metabolism, energy regulation, musculoskeletal capacity, and recovery change during midlife — and how to support those systems so the body can respond more reliably again. This is non-medical, lifestyle-based support, grounded in physiology and designed to work on its own or alongside medical and therapeutic care.

Midlife symptoms aren’t random 🔍
They reflect shifting hormone patterns.

In this article, I explain how changes in oestrogen, progesterone, cortisol and thyroid activity influence sleep, mood, metabolism and weight during perimenopause 🌸 through a functional lens ✨

Have a purpose in life to reduce your dementia risk.

Having a sense of purpose—whether it’s caring for family, volunteering, pursuing hobbies, or contributing to your community—may protect your brain from dementia.

Researchers from UC Davis Health followed over 13,000 adults aged 45 and older for 15 years and found that people with a strong sense of purpose had a 28% lower risk of cognitive decline and delayed onset of memory loss.

Even those carrying the APOE4 gene—a major genetic risk factor for Alzheimer’s—benefited from having purpose, known in Japan as ikigai.

Purpose-driven living has long been linked to longevity in the world’s “Blue Zones.” This new research shows it also supports brain health.

As researcher Thomas Wingo explains:
“Purpose in life is something we can nurture. It’s never too early—or too late—to start thinking about what gives your life meaning.”

Ozempic is everywhere right now — but most people only hear the success stories, not the full picture.

Ozempic (semaglutide) was created for Type 2 diabetes, but it’s now being used off-label for weight loss.

Yes, it can help some people lose weight… but it also comes with side effects and risks many aren’t aware of.

In today’s carousel I break down:
• How Ozempic works
• Common vs. serious side effects
• Who should be cautious
• Why weight gain is never just about calories
• Root-cause alternatives grounded in holistic health

Your body deserves sustainable support — not quick fixes with unknown long-term effects.

Ultra-processed foods don’t just affect your body — they can change your brain.

Researchers from the University of Helsinki analyzed around 30,000 brain scans to understand how ultra-processed foods (UPFs) influence the brain’s reward and appetite centers.

They found that diets high in UPFs were linked to changes in areas of the brain involved in impulse control, cravings, and emotional regulation.
This may help explain why so many people feel “out of control” around certain foods — why it’s easy to keep eating even when you’re not hungry.

The issue is with ultra-processed foods — the ones made from:
• Industrial additives
• Flavor enhancers
• Artificial sweeteners & emulsifiers
• Chemically modified oils
• “Food-like” ingredients the body doesn’t naturally recognize

These are the foods engineered to be:
→ Hyper-palatable
→ Easy to overeat
→ Hard to stop

Your brain is responding exactly how it’s designed to.
And with awareness, we can shift how we nourish and support it.

Save this to come back to.

Women metabolize and respond to alcohol differently — especially in their 30s, 40s & 50s.
This isn’t about fear or shame.
It’s about physiology and making clear, informed choices.

What research consistently shows:
• sleep becomes more fragmented after even small amounts
• hormone fluctuations increase sensitivity
• the cortisol rebound is stronger in women
• long-term risk (including breast cancer) is dose-dependent — not dramatic, just factual

If you’ve ever wondered why w**e hits differently now…
your body is not failing you.
Your physiology has changed — and understanding it is empowering.

Save this for holiday season.

Holiday bloat isn’t about “eating wrong.”
It’s about how your digestive system responds to the holiday rhythm:

✨ Stress slows gut movement
✨ Late meals delay stomach emptying
✨ Higher salt, sugar & carbonation = fluid shifts
✨ Less movement = slower motility
Your body isn’t misbehaving — it’s adapting.

What part of holiday eating feels hardest on your digestion? 💛

When PMS overlaps with Christmas or New Year’s, the body is already navigating shifts in hormones, digestion, and sensory processing — and holiday demands can intensify what you feel.

This isn’t about “being emotional” or “letting things get to you.”
It’s about the physiological state you’re in:

• serotonin + GABA support naturally drop
• digestion slows
• blood sugar becomes more sensitive
• sensory thresholds decrease
• emotional resilience dips

Understanding this gives you clarity, not excuses —
and it helps you make choices that support your system rather than push against it.

If you’ve ever wondered, “Why does everything feel harder this week?”…
there is a real, body-based explanation.

What do you notice most during this overlap?

Women make up more than half the population, yet for decades most clinical research was based on the male body.
This wasn’t because women were “less relevant,” but because hormonal variation was seen as an inconvenience in research design.

🔖The result?
Dosages, recommendations, and health standards that don’t always reflect women’s physiology.

This is improving — but not evenly.
So awareness matters.

‼️When you read health advice:
• Was it studied in women?
• Was data analyzed by s*x and life stage?
• Does it apply to your phase of life?
