Day 8 Update - Singing Bowls
Booking a retreat online is always a bit of a gamble. Will it be culty? Weird? Just off? I booked this one on pure gut feeling based off the website!
As the driver pulled up to my Hotel I realised I was the first person to be picked up! Thats a good vantage point. I can judge everyone as they get in the car and see what type of 4 days I’m in for! 😜 You know that saying, there’s always 1… in this case there wasn’t! (Or maybe it was me) 😂
Our home for the 4 days was a beautiful local organic farm Smart youth organic farm stay
As a painfully picky eater, I promised to try everything and ended up liking most, even loving some!
The whole stay was just so bloody wholesome. First in bed, first up and finally feeling space to properly exhale. We even had the owner’s little 2 yr old daughter shouting “Hellooooo Didi” each morning. I accidentally taught her to say “oopsie” when she dropped her little marble.
The sound healing with Gerrit was next level. After doing a course in Australia, I left feeling like I needed more. Gerrit brought it all! The incredible learning space, 2,000 year history, the science of frequencies and etherial morning sound sessions that we started our day with. He is both a beautiful player and a brilliant teacher.
Of course, it brought up a lot. People joke about the cliché of coming here to “find yourself,” but it happens for a reason. The Western world has its perks, but sometimes i think WTF have we created? Sometimes we just need to unplug from the pressure for a hot minute.
Yes its important to create space to breathe, but sometimes we need the type of rest that doesn’t have a countdown timer attached. And that’s what i got! Eternally grateful.
Thats all that IG will let me write, so i will leave it here for now. One night in Kathmandu, then the Helambu Trek begins tomorrow morning! Come on legs, show me what you got!!
