OT Week Fun - we need your help!

We are starting to prepare to celebrate OT Week, and our OTs are hoping you can help us decorate the clinic!

Our AHA's have made some silly stick figures with our OT's faces on them. Next time you come for a session at Treehouse, we would love for you to decorate one, and tell us what you love about OT. In 2 weeks, we will hang them all around reception to celebrate what our OT's do!

We are joining Lifely at this great event tomorrow night (which includes free dinner and care for your kids if needed!) to explore caring for a young child with support needs and the journey of engaging with therapy supports. It’s not too late to rsvp!

Parenting while navigating a diagnosis, accessing early supports, and managing everyday family life can feel overwhelming. That's why we're continuing our Lifely Carers Series with an event designed specifically for parents and carers of young children.

Join us for an evening of information, connection, and practical support, with opportunities to learn from others who understand the journey.

We are running a group for 10 weeks from October for children going to Prep next year!

The group has been designed by an Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist and Physiotherapist to practice skills and routines that will be used in your child's prep year, and learn more about what it might look like and feel like to be at school!

The group is facilitated by 2 Allied Health Professionals.

We have a couple of spaces in our lower primary Geocaching group next week! (Lower-Middle Primary age, 11:30 Tuesday 29th of September)

What is Geocaching?

Think of it as a real‑life treasure hunt!

Geocaching is an outdoor adventure where you use a smartphone app or GPS to find hidden “caches” tucked away in parks, bushland, and local spots. Inside, you might find small treasures, fun surprises, or a logbook to sign.

- Gets kids outdoors in nature and moving
- Encourages teamwork, problem‑solving, and curiosity
- Builds navigation and observation skills
- Screens become a tool instead of a distraction
- Fun for mixed ages and abilities
- Learning without realising it- and working together toward a common goal!

Our Geocaching groups are really popular and the kids have so much fun working together! Due to cancellations, we have space in our lower primary Geocaching group next

Email us at [email protected] or call (54) 101254 if you are interested!

Here is an opportunity to provide valuable information and guidance around what barriers families experience when accessing community physical activity, what your kids would love to participate in, and what you think could help. Link is in the text below from the post by Sports Focus

🏃 Every child deserves the chance to play.
Too many children with disability miss out on community sport. This means they can miss the fun, friendships, confidence and health benefits that sport can bring.

The problem isn't that children don't want to be active. Many families face barriers like not knowing where to start, finding inclusive clubs, or getting the right support.

That's why Sports Focus is working with Bendigo Special Developmental School to learn directly from local families. This survey will help us understand what children enjoy, what gets in the way, and how we can make community sport easier to access.

Your answers will help shape better pathways into local sport for children of all abilities.

Together, we can build a community where every child has the chance to belong, be active and thrive.

👉 Complete the survey today and help us create more inclusive sporting opportunities for local families. https://bit.ly/3TWrgE5

👨‍🍳 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗝𝗢𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗪! 👩‍🍳

Cooking Crew is all about getting stuck in, having fun and making something yummy!

Facilitated by our OT's, kids will explore a variety of food-based activities, which could include making mud cake in a mug, pizzas, burgers and more, while developing practical skills, independence, confidence and teamwork.

✨ We still have a couple of places available!

A fun collab for us with Codergarten!

Very excited to be partnering with the wonderful team at Treehouse Paediatrics for a sensor designer course in term 4.

Together, we are co-designing a sensor that can help track movement and impact during exercise. Our young coders will step into the role of designers and innovators, using Microbit as wearable technology to develop this tool and explore how coding and technology can be used to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

Thanks to Ashlee, Josh and the team for the discussions. We look forward to continuing this collaboration with other projects.
