Let’s start at the Root Chakra!

We’re kicking off our chakra bracelet series with the Root Chakra, traditionally associated with grounding, stability, security and feeling connected to the world around us.

We’ve picked three bracelets from our collection that are traditionally associated with the Root Chakra:

Orb Sunset Jasper
Black Obsidian
Snowflake Obsidian

Each has its own traditional crystal associations, and each brings something a little different to the collection.

5 Rocks & Minerals in Our Store You Might Not Know!

Not everything in the crystal world is technically a crystal, and some familiar stone names are more complicated than they sound!

Nguni Jasper: A commercial name used for a patterned decorative stone.

Larvikite: This one is a rock! Larvikite is an igneous rock named after the Larvik area of Norway.

Snakeskin Jasper: A trade name inspired by its distinctive patterns. The name alone doesn’t guarantee an exact geological composition or origin.

Leopard Skin Jasper: Another trade name! Material sold under this name is often rhyolite, a volcanic rock, rather than true jasper.

Australian Print Stone: A commercial name for a patterned decorative stone.

Trade names are useful for recognising stones in shops, but they don’t always tell the whole geological story. That’s part of what makes learning about rocks and minerals so fascinating!

Which one was new to you?

A little PSA for cat people!

I’ve had customers genuinely surprised when I’ve mentioned being careful with incense around cats. It’s not something everyone knows, so I thought it was worth talking about!

Incense produces smoke and airborne particles that can irritate a cat’s respiratory system. Cats with asthma or sensitive airways may be particularly vulnerable.

If you burn incense, keep your cats away from the smoke, ventilate the area well, and make sure smoke isn’t drifting into the spaces where they spend their time.

And remember, essential oils are a separate concern. Just because something is natural doesn’t automatically make it pet-safe.

My own cats are safely outside in their catio while this incense burns.

I’m not here to tell anyone off. I just think our furry family members deserve a little consideration when we’re creating our own peaceful spaces.

Your crystals can wait. Your cat’s lungs come first.
