🌏💛 Happy World Occupational Therapy Day! 💛🌏

Today, we celebrate the incredible impact Occupational Therapists make in supporting people to participate in everyday life.

✨ So, what is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy (OT) supports people to participate in the everyday activities that are meaningful, important and necessary to them. These activities, often called occupations, can include everything from getting dressed, playing, learning and making friends to working, cooking and engaging in hobbies.

OTs work alongside individuals and families to build skills, develop independence, overcome challenges and find strategies or adaptations that make everyday life more accessible. 🌈

At Waratah OT, we love supporting our clients to work towards their goals, discover their strengths and participate in the things that matter most to them.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to be involved in the activities and experiences that bring meaning, connection and belonging to their lives. 💕

Here's to celebrating our profession, our clients and all the little things that make a big difference!

🌸 Happy OT Week 2026! 🌸

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible impact Occupational Therapists make in the everyday lives of individuals and families. 💛

This year’s theme, Participation Matters, highlights something at the heart of what we do. That is supporting people to participate in the activities, routines and experiences that are meaningful to them.

At Waratah OT, we love helping our clients build skills, explore their interests, develop independence and find ways to engage in everyday life. Whether it’s a small step forward or a big milestone, every achievement matters! ✨

Here’s to celebrating our profession, our clients and the many ways occupational therapy helps people participate in life. 🌈

🌸 Meet Ella - our newest Occupational Therapist at Waratah OT!

Ella has experience working with both paediatric and adult clients and is expanding her skills in assistive technology and home modifications. 🎨 She loves incorporating her passion for art into therapy, using activities such as painting, clay and embroidery to support function and help clients achieve their goals.

Outside of work, Ella enjoys adventures with her growing family and creating new paintings in her home studio. 💛

We’re so excited to welcome Ella to the Waratah OT team!

Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending the CQU Occupational Therapy Graduate Conference 2026.

Kirralee presented to the cohort on behalf of Waratah OT as a Gold Sponsor of the conference, her words of wisdom were appreciated by all.

It was wonderful to see the time and effort the
students had put into their community projects. Congratulations on finishing your 4 years of study, we are excited to be working alongside you all next year 🎓⭐️

💛 R U OK? DAY 💛

Today is a reminder that a simple question can make a big difference.

R U OK?
It’s more than just asking the question. It is about taking the time to genuinely listen, check in, and let someone know they’re not alone.

At Waratah Occupational Therapy, we know that wellbeing looks different for everyone. Creating supportive connections, listening without judgement, and making space for people to talk can all play an important role in supporting mental wellbeing. 🌻

So today, check in with a friend, family member, colleague or someone you haven’t spoken to in a while.

💛 Ask. Listen. Encourage action. Check in.

You never know how much that little question might mean.

R U OK?
