Sudden hearing loss is something you should NEVER ignore!

A sudden change in hearing, whether in one ear or both, can be a medical emergency. It may happen alongside ringing in the ears (tinnitus), a feeling of fullness or blockage, or dizziness.

Sometimes it may be something as simple as earwax or congestion, but it could also be sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL), which requires urgent medical attention.

If you experience sudden hearing loss, seek urgent medical assessment, ideally on the same day. Don't wait to see if it improves on its own.

Ever wondered how to actually read your hearing test? 👂✨

If you’ve ever looked at an audiogram and felt completely lost, you’re not alone! It’s actually pretty simple once you break it down:

The Volume (Side): Soft sounds live at the very top, and they get louder as you go down.
The Pitch (Top): Low pitches (like "ah, ee, oo" sounds) are on the left, moving all the way to high pitches (like "f, s, sh" sounds) on the right.
The Ears: Red circles represent your right ear, and blue crosses are for your left.

The golden rule? As long as those circles and crosses stay above the 20 decibel line, your hearing is within normal limits!
