🎄 Help us bring a little hope to someone this Christmas ❤️

For many of us, Christmas means family, food on the table and presents under the tree. But for people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence or financial hardship, it can be a time of loneliness, worry and wondering how they’ll afford even the basics.

At Pathhaven Disability Care, we’re bringing our community together to support Carrie’s Place and help make Christmas a little brighter for people doing it tough.

We need your help. Money raised will help purchase gifts for children and teenagers, along with gift cards for food and other essentials, giving families some relief and the chance to enjoy Christmas with dignity.

Imagine the relief of being able to buy groceries, or knowing your child will have a present to open on Christmas morning. That’s the difference your donation could help make.

Pathhaven Disability Care is running a Christmas Toy Run supporting Carrie’s Place in Maitland, and we’re calling on our community to get behind it! ❤️

While many of us look forward to presents, celebrations and Christmas lunch, people experiencing homelessness or financial hardship may be wondering how they’ll afford food or a gift for their children.

Together, we can help ease that pressure and remind local families that their community cares.

Funds raised will help purchase children’s gifts and gift cards for supermarkets and other retailers, helping families access food, essentials and something special for Christmas.

THROUGH THE PATHHAVEN LENS 👓 GWYN

This week, Kym caught up with Gwyn, Support Coordinator from Inspire Disability Network, for a great chat about what really matters in our industry.

When providers, Support Coordinators, families and support teams genuinely work together, the focus stays where it should be: on the participant and seeing genuine happiness in the people we support. We also reckon it’s time to bring a bit more fun back into the industry! Good outcomes matter. Quality supports matter. Compliance matters. But so do laughs, connection, personality and actually enjoying what we do.

We also spoke about Gwyn's own life experience which is part of the reason for her wanting to support those in the community.

And of course, we couldn’t finish without the all-important Karaoke question. Gwyn’s song of choice?

Since starting in 2022, we’ve worked to help people build independence, feel supported and stay connected to their community. We’re excited to celebrate this milestone with you all!
