🌺 5 Steps for Integrating post breathwork session.
1. (THE BREATHWIRK JOURNEY OPENS THE DOOR): Notice what stood out most.
What images, sensation, emotions, memories, or realisations you experienced. And, what might this experience be showing you? Explore possible meanings and connections to your life, recognising that imagery and sensations can have many interpretations.
2. (THE INSIGHTS THAY MAY HAVEN BEEN HIDDEN) : Relate it to daily life. What does this experience reveal about how you live? For instance you may have felt a powerful feeling of freedom during your journey. Through reflection, you might recognise how much you may have been limiting yourself through fear of judgement. integration could involve expressing self more authentically or taking a step towards something you have been avoiding.
3. (INTEGRATION): Contemplate deeply.
Ask: What patterns or lessons is this showing me? What does this mean for me? Begin to reflect on what you discovered. You may ask yourself. Where does this pattern show up in my life? How has it influenced my relationships and choices? What feelings or needs have I been avoiding? What do I need to acknowledge, accept or change?
4. (WHAT WISDOM EMERGED FOR YOU?) Turn insight into wisdom. Taking what you experienced, felt, remembered or understood in your journey and integrating it into the way you live your life. For instance, with the experience-what happened? During a journey, we may experience a deep sadness, felt a sense of freedom, see symbolic imagery or become aware of recurring patterns in our life. Or Insight-What did I realise? You may recognise, for example, "I've spent much of my life trying to earn people's love." "I've been holding onto anger that I never allowed myself to express." "I often abandon my own needs to keep other people happy," or, I'm afraid of being seen for who I truly am." An insight is a moment of awareness. Something that was previously unconscious or unclear begins to come to focus.
5. Embody the wisdom.
We can have a profound experience and still return to old patterns. The transformation happens gradually as you begin to bring awareness to your choices, relationships, responses and behaviours. Choose a daily action that expresses it or how can you live my life differently? This is where understanding becomes embodied. For example, someone who realises they have spent years seeking approval might begin practising self-acceptance, establishing healthier boundaries and making choices that honor their own needs — perhaps a loving-kindness practice, journaling, or joining a supportive circle.
Remember that a breathwork journey can open a doorway to deeper self-awareness, revealing emotions and memories. Yet true value of an experience lies in not only in what we discover during the journey, but how we integrate that discovery into our lives. Through reflection, an insight is an awakening to something new. Wisdom develops as we reflect upon that insight, take time to explore and allow it to inspire the way you live. To embody what you have learned with self compassion and conscious action. Tom honor your experience, allow space for integration and trust within your own time and capacity to find meaning.
