An ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) assessment is play and activity based. There's no right or wrong way to take part. OT Christine is simply there to see how your child plays, communicates and connects in a comfortable space.

Every autistic child is different, so every assessment looks a little different too. It's not about finding a problem to fix, it's about building a clearer picture of your child's strengths and needs.

We've streamlined how we handle new referrals, so most people now have their first appointment booked into the calendar within 48 hours of us receiving the referral.

The appointment date depends on the type of service you have been referred for, but you won't be left wondering when you'll hear from us.

Getting started shouldn't be the hardest part of asking for help. If you're ready to take that step, we'd love to hear from you.

Learning to cook your own meals is a goal we hear often, and it's a great one!

Our occupational therapists break the process down into manageable steps, from using kitchen equipment safely to planning and preparing a simple meal from start to finish.

Everyone's starting point is different, so we build on the skills you already have and work at a pace that feels right for you.

Cooking for yourself is a real step towards independence, and we love being part of that!

Meet Allie, one of our Occupational Therapists here at Wide Bay Therapy.

While Allie works from our Gympie office, she also looks after our outreach communities, bringing our OT services to clients across the Wide Bay and South Burnett region. We love having the opportunity to visit our clients at home and in their communities.

When she's not at work, you'll find Allie playing or coaching rugby, at the beach or dreaming of one day hitting the slopes in Canada.
