Right now, you’re noticing more than you’re consciously aware of. Have you ever learnt about a particular car and then suddenly started seeing it everywhere?
Or discovered a new word and realised you keep coming across it?
Maybe you’ve been thinking about buying a certain colour of car, and suddenly that colour seems to be everywhere you look.
Did everyone suddenly start driving that car?
Probably not. 😆
You’ve simply started noticing it.
Our brains are constantly taking in an enormous amount of information, sounds, sights, movement, conversations, sensations, smells and everything happening around us.
We can’t consciously pay attention to all of it.
So our attention naturally filters.
Some things become important enough for us to notice. Other things fade into the background. And this is happening all the time.
Think about driving.
You can be having a conversation, listening to music and watching the road, while your brain is also taking in signs, traffic lights, other vehicles, pedestrians, road conditions and countless other details. You aren’t consciously thinking about every single one. Your attention is constantly moving between what’s relevant in that moment and what’s being filtered into the background.
And this is one reason awareness matters. Because what we notice can be influenced by what we’re already thinking about, looking for, interested in or paying attention to.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that we’ve “manifested” something into our lives.
Sometimes…
we’ve simply become more aware of it.
And that little distinction is important. Because as we become more aware of our thoughts, reactions, habits and patterns, we can start noticing things that may have been there all along.
Which brings us to a bigger question:
What else might be happening beneath our conscious awareness?
That’s where we’re heading next… 🌙✨🌸
