A bit of a blast from the past today! ✂️😂

Some of you might not know that in a past life, I owned a hairdressing salon and worked as a stylist. Plenty of fond memories—and a few hairstylists probably best left in the past!

These days, I’m helping people build confidence in a different way through My Mates Place, and I reckon I love what I do even more.

🐴 The boys are back with Hanna at Prospect Hill Equine Therapy!

We’ve been visiting regularly for just over a year, and it’s wonderful to see how far these two lads have come. From first getting to know the horses, Jack and Felix, they’re now confidently grooming, saddling and feeding them—and riding independently almost all the time! They’ve also enjoyed rides through Kuitpo Forest and to and from the arena. 🌳

Beyond their riding skills, the peaceful country setting and time around the animals help the lads relax, open up and share. Hanna is an amazing mentor and therapist who makes everyone feel comfortable being themselves. 💚

We’re proud of their progress and grateful for the care, encouragement and support that have helped their confidence grow.

Friday Night Socials were a hole-in-one! ⛳😂 A big welcome to Maxy, who was a fantastic addition to the crew and seemed to love meeting everyone! 🙌

We hit the mini-golf course, grabbed our dinner, then headed back to the Hang Pad to relax and eat together. 🍔🌯 Good food, great company and a few questionable putting techniques! 🤣

The evening flew by, and before we knew it, we were heading home—with plenty of banter and jokes keeping everyone entertained along the way! 🚗😆

⛳ Friday Night Socials is looking a little different this week!

We’re off for mini golf, followed by a wander down Jetty Road, Glenelg. Grab whatever food takes your fancy, and we’ll enjoy dinner together. 🍔🍕🌯

I’m back, the weather’s warm, and hopefully the rain stays away! We’re normally a pretty lucky bunch—although that doesn’t guarantee anyone a hole-in-one! 😂

We had the pleasure of visiting St Marys Baptist Church for their EBC program, where Mia and Max treated us to some beautiful music! 🎶👏

There’s bingo, a quiz, food and plenty of friendly faces—all for just five bucks! A bargain, even if your bingo numbers never come up! 😂

It’s an incredibly inclusive environment, with everyone making new faces and friends feel welcome. Good times had by all! 💙

🏮 What an amazing night at the Lantern Festival at Elder Park! Great music from Regurgitator, plenty to explore and an absolute ripper crew to share it with! 🎶🙌

Everyone had the chance to explore in smaller groups and come together as one big crew. A busy festival with this many mates could’ve been a challenge, but everyone was respectful, considerate and looked out for each other. Made my job easy—although a headcount nearly required a calculator! 😂

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a fantastic night. I enjoyed it so much I’m taking the family back tonight… strictly for the family experience, obviously. Nothing to do with going back for more food! 🥟🤣

🎳 Massive crew at Friday Night Socials tonight! At this rate, we might need our own tour bus! 😂

Welcome back, Riely! Joining us are Sharna, Jordan, Troy, Alex, Hannah and Yaz, plus about another eight of our awesome crew. Plenty of laughs and some very questionable bowling techniques guaranteed! 🤣

A quick bowl, then we’re off to Elder Park for the Chinese Lantern Festival! 🏮✨

🎳🏮 Friday Night Socials is going to be MASSIVE tonight—16 of us heading out together! Look out, Adelaide! 😂

A big welcome to Sharna and her husband, Hannah and Yazmin! Great to have Riely, Finn and Jacob Stocker back with us too—it’s been a while, mates! Add Josh Couch and our regular crew, and we’ve got a cracking group. 🙌

First up, bowling—where enthusiasm is guaranteed, but accuracy is anyone’s guess! 🎳🤣 Then we’re jumping on the train into the city for the Chinese Lantern Festival, ready for delicious food, colourful sights and plenty of laughs.

New faces, familiar mates and a great night together—that’s what My Mates Place is all about. ❤️

Can’t wait to see you all! Bring your appetite and your best bowling excuses! 😂

🎳🥟🌟 FRIDAY NIGHT SOCIALS — WHAT’S THE PLAN, CREW?

We’re meeting around 5 pm, with bowling at 6 pm as our usual plan. But with daylight saving and some decent weather, we’ve got options! 😎

🥟 Lucky Dumpling Market at Elder Park — lanterns, entertainment and something tasty. A little culture with our dumplings!

🌊 Beachside wander and a bite to eat — fresh air, good company and the all-important debate about what’s for dinner.

🔭 Stargazing at Hawthorndene — something a little different! It runs 8–11 pm, so it’s a late one. Tickets are required, telescopes are provided, and volunteers explain what we’re looking at… handy, because my commentary would mostly be, “Yep, there’s another shiny one!” 😂
