AnnyBody Ethos focuses on three key principles to achieve a greater state of well-being: HappyBelly, HappyBody and HappyMind. Our philosophy is based on the principle that the human body is an intelligent system always striving toward optimum health. A simple fact of life is – we are all unique; we have our own individual needs at any given time based on age, hormonal changes, lifestyle, genetic disposition, race, sex and goals. Our Belly, Body and Mind are deeply connected and cannot be addressed separately, when change occurs in one area other areas follow suit. The question is what is it that each and every body needs for optimum health? Is it really possible by eating quality food in season that anybody can feel better, look better, think better and in general be better? HappyBelly

ā€˜Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.’ – Hippocrates 350BC

Let us look then at what kind of food is quality food and can be used a medicine. What was Hippocrates really talking about here? By finding a range of foods that have worked for them, over time my clients have found a profound difference between feeling unwell and a renewed sense of wellness. Relief from a range of issues such as:

digestive disorders
hormonal issues
headaches
sleep disorders
excess or lack of body weight
aches and pains
sugar cravings
energy slumps
skin issues and allergies
mood swings and depression

The powerful healing qualities of seasonal and unadulterated food, specific to your needs, prepared in a way that suits your tastes is the magic I love discovering with you. Of course we cannot isolate consuming food from other areas of life. To compliment our HappyLife, focus on a happybody and happymind are an integral part of the overall equation. HappyBody

ā€¦ā€˜the real secret to lifelong good health is actually the opposite: Let your body take care of you.’ - Deepak Chopra

The body was designed to move and interact with life. What makes you move, again depends on your individual make up. There is no one size fits all rather what drives and works for you. For each of us to find our food is always related to a happier body and a happy body is a body that is in balance and relatively free of aches and pains. Similar to the concept that eating quality food will assist everybody, so too some kind of movement will assist everybody. Give it what it needs and watch how it takes care of itself as Deepak elegantly expresses. When body feels freer, magically we feel more clear and positive in thought. HappyMind

ā€˜The brain is not fixed, it is a process’ – Dr Dean Ornish

It is no mystery that mind is powerful beyond our full understanding. Yet what is clear when we observe successful people is they often have clarity and stamina with their mission. Our mission is to build your core strength with a more conscious and positive thinking behavior. We support this process with:

a quality supply of reliable and independent information on health & wellbeing
tips and specific exercises to support a more focused and attentive mind
activities around mindfulness
encouragement to observe difficult situations from different perspectives
The vital link here is that when we change lifestyle habits for the better with food and movement, the expression of at least 500 genes in our body also change. This means our brain and thought process is indeed flexible. As the body can change shape, so too can the brain. When the momentum starts to build both body and mind have a built in engine of their own. A corner is now turned – from force to ease. No more fighting with yourself. Anybody can join the wellness revolution. Are you ready to come on board?

When it’s happening to you, how are you expected to explain it to anyone else?

I’ve designed four modules over four weeks from the work I do with women in clinic, the work that has given them real relief & their households notice.

Together we’ll identify the patterns that keep you in the either too little too much emotional roller coaster, bring you in relationship with your body & give you language even if you don’t exactly understand yourself!

When a woman has more room inside, her whole household feels it.

We begin Sunday 25 October.

If this is what you need, I’d love you to come.

ā€œI’m so sick of this! Why is it still a problem? I thought I dealt with it in all the years of therapy.ā€

I had a session that brought me to tears. Talking wasn’t going to touch it. I worked with her gently and safely. Words were part of it but this time it wasn’t her telling the same story over.

The Liver governs the smooth flow of Qi, and when that flow is blocked, the channel itself carries the tension, held in tissue, joints and fascia.

It’s not conscious, it’s habitual and the body remembers in order to keep you safe. While safety is important it can also frame you in the same way for years.

Rage Rising is a 4 week online course for women approaching, in the thick of, or years beyond menopause.

Becoming aware of your patterns is the first step.
From there, the magic begins.

We begin Sunday 25 October, live on Zoom with lifetime access to the recordings. Link in bio 🌹

ā€œI feel like mush one moment, and in an instant I’m a wild beast! How am I supposed to tell my partner and kids what’s happening?ā€ a woman said to me just this week.

It’s such a common experience. So many women tell me they feel unreasonable, out of control, not themselves. They try to explain it and can’t find the words, because they don’t understand it either.

Neuroscientist Dr Lisa Mosconi describes puberty, pregnancy and perimenopause as the three Ps, and each one reshapes a woman’s brain. These aren’t small adjustments. They are major transitions, as big as the ones we went through as teenagers.

Chinese medicine explains this through the Jing, our essence, which fills the brain, the Sea of Marrow.

When our essence turns at 49, it’s no surprise that what changes in the womb is experienced through the mind.

So the mush and the wild beast aren’t a failing. They are your body and brain moving through a threshold. When you understand what’s happening, you can begin to explain it to the people you love, and more importantly, to yourself.

Rage Rising is a way in.
We begin Sunday 25 October, four weeks online.

Being the good girl has meant swallowing your words.

At 7 we learnt to be nice.
At 14, as the gate opened and our bodies changed, we learnt to be careful.
At 21 we learnt to fit in, to keep the peace, to be liked.

Every swallowed No, every word held back, went somewhere. It went deeper into the body.

That No didn’t disappear. It’s been waiting.

Now, at and around 49, as the gate begins to close, that pressure can no longer hold down the lifeforce underneath it.

In Chinese medicine, the Liver carries our lifeforce. It is the energy of spring, of the shoot pushing up through the soil. It needs to move up and out.

Remember that weeds can break up concrete with the amount of life force ā¤ļøā€šŸ”„

Same for us, when the energy has been held down for decades, it rises with heat and force šŸ”„

So what’s rising in midlife isn’t you falling apart. It’s something old finally asking to be heard.

Exploring emotions through Chinese medicine, we learn to understand this energy and to work with ourselves, not against ourselves.

It’s about more, not less.
More space, more understanding, more compassion, and of course, more capacity to finally say NO!

That clenched jaw has something to say.
In Chinese medicine, swallowed anger becomes stuck Liver qi, and the body starts storing over time.

Anger, like all emotions are an energy that can be tracked by feeling. The places are commonly in areas of expression or where the expression has been plugged up.

Sound familiar?

Save this for the next time you catch yourself sighing at the sink.

Rage Rising starts 25 October

In Chinese medicine we speak of Three Treasures: Jing, Qi and Shen. Jing is your deep reserve, the essence you were born with, stored in the Kidneys.

Qi is the energy you spend each day.
Shen is the spirit that shines through your eyes.
When we run on empty for years, we stop living on our daily Qi and start borrowing from Jing.

That’s the tiredness sleep doesn’t fix.

Perimenopause often brings this to the surface.
The body asks us to stop borrowing.

Qigong is how I tend my own fire. It wakes the body’s intelligence, and it’s far less brutal than weights. The movements keep joints and tissues hydrated, which naturally supports muscle form. They keep us mobile for the things that matter, like walking and getting up and down from the floor.

The pelvis is also an emotional storehouse.
Pain is draining and depressing on the qi, and as Chinese medicine teaches, where there is free flow there is no pain.

So we listen to the pain and create space around it. Underneath the rage, we find the real pain.

This is the work we do in Rage Rising, for women whose emotional world feels like it’s running the show.

The new human is a feeling human.

2026 is a Fire Horse year: fire upon fire.
If your feelings have been arriving bigger, hotter and faster, you’re not imagining it.

Fire doesn’t create what’s in us, it reveals it.
The work is learning to let it warm rather than burn.

Rage Rising is a 4 week online inquiry into building capacity, working with your rhythms and cycles to harness the fire for nourishment and warmth. Through Chinese medicine, somatic and nervous system awareness you’ll learn simple techniques to harness your power.

Starts 25 October šŸ”„

The oldest text in Chinese medicine, the Huangdi Neijing, names a vessel most of us have never heard of: the Bao Mai. ā€œThe Bao Mai belongs to the Heart and connects within the uterusā€ (Su Wen, chapter 33).

Your womb and your Heart were never separate systems.

In the classics the Heart houses the Shen, our spirit and awareness, and the same chapter describes what happens when qi surges upward and Heart qi can’t flow down: the descent is blocked, and the energy presses up instead.

Here’s where it meets the nervous system. Capacity is how much activation a body can hold; heat, charge, emotion, and still feel safe, without shutting down or exploding.

An adaptive nervous system has more open flexible banks. A system that has spent decades bracing, holding it together for everyone else, has narrow tight ones.

Menopause doesn’t create the fire. It changes where the fire goes. When the banks were shaped around a monthly release, the returning warmth can meet a channel too tight to hold it.

That’s why I don’t work only with symptoms. We work with capacity: slowing down enough to feel, breath that lengthens the exhale, movement that lets the body discharge, and being witnessed by other women.

Soften the banks, build capacity through awareness and the Heart has room to receive what’s coming home.

Rage Rising begins Sunday 25 October. Early bird $299 until midnight tonight, Monday 19 October, then $369.

A moment for World Menopause Day 🌹

Here we are at the Abbotsford Convent, clearing the Liver and Gallbladder channels together. This qigong sequence encourages moving energy, an important component of liberating ourselves through this transition. One woman’s headache disappeared from doing this clearing x

Our body, our vessel ~ we’ll be together for years to come. Getting to know her in this time is vital. Through touch and attention with awareness, qigong offers such powerful insights.

Compassionate attention to self is powerful, and a revolt against what we’ve been taught.

Save this, try it, and tell me what you notice šŸƒ

Rage Rising has a qigong component to cultivate self compassion and reverence.
We begin Sunday 25 October, extended early bird closes at midnight Monday 19th
