If your baby has been diagnosed with an IVH (intraventricular haemorrhage), hearing those words can be incredibly frightening.

IVH means there has been bleeding into the fluid-filled spaces, or ventricles, within the brain. It is more common in very premature babies because the blood vessels in their developing brains are particularly delicate.

You may hear the NICU team talk about different grades of IVH. These describe the extent of the bleeding and help the team determine what monitoring and follow-up your baby may need.

One important thing to remember: an IVH diagnosis does not automatically mean your baby will have long-term problems. Every baby and every IVH is different.

If you’re sitting in NICU trying to understand scans, medical terms and everything you’re being told, please know that it’s okay to ask questions — and ask them more than once. ❀

And when your baby comes home, you don’t have to suddenly feel like you should know everything.

If you’re a NICU parent and you’re worried about how you’ll manage those first weeks at home, call Mumma Sue.

I provide personalised fourth-trimester support to help you feel more confident caring for your baby once you’re home from hospital.

Your baby may be ready to come home. You deserve to feel ready too. đŸ€

Your baby is finally home
 but what about you? đŸ€

After weeks in NICU, SCN or hospital, you can go from having a team around you 24/7 to suddenly being home and wondering:

“Am I doing this right?”
“Why does this feel so overwhelming?”
“Who do I call at 3am?”
“Why does everyone expect me to just know?”

This is exactly why I created Mumma Sue.

With 30+ years of neonatal nursing experience, I come into your home and support you and your baby through those first precious weeks.

We work together on feeding, settling, reading your baby’s cues, routines, confidence and making your days feel manageable again.

My 5-week in-home package is designed to take you from overwhelmed and second-guessing everything → confident and capable at home.

And you don’t have to wait until you’re struggling to ask for help.

If your baby is coming home soon — or is already home — let’s talk.

No mother should have to navigate the fourth trimester alone.

Leaving NICU is a huge milestone—but coming home can bring unexpected fear, doubt and overwhelm.

After weeks of monitoring and support, suddenly you’re responsible for everything at home. What if your baby won’t settle? What if you miss something? What if you don’t feel ready?

You don’t have to face those first weeks alone.

Mumma Sue’s 5-Week Fourth Trimester Support Program provides in-home support for you and your baby, helping you feel more confident with feeding, settling, sleep, understanding your baby’s cues and navigating those challenging 3am moments.

Your baby may be ready to come home—but you deserve support too. đŸ€

Bringing your baby home is exciting
but it can also feel completely overwhelming. đŸ€

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need the right support, reassurance and someone to remind you that you’re doing better than you think.

Because no mother should have to navigate the fourth trimester alone. 🌾

Save this for the days when you need a little reassurance.
