Oh hiii hello 🍃

She’s alive ☺️ I apologise for my radio silence the past 6 months.

You know when the schedule gets so chaotic, days and weeks start rolling into one.
So life turned to me and said “slow down mama”

Covid hit our family of 6 back in March and unfortunately I’ve struggled to get my body back to stable health since so it forced me to just stop, breathe and listen to my body rather than push on and ignore.

I’ve missed connecting with you all 💚 my beautiful green beans.

DRY OR DEHYDRATED SKIN?

When it comes to skincare, dry and dehydrated seem like two words to describe the same thing. But in actuality, they are completely different issues with different underlying causes.

The difference between dry and dehydrated skin is that dry skin is a type and dehydrated skin is a condition. That means you can have oily, dry, or combination skin, and it can still be temporarily dehydrated. Keeping your body hydrated with lots of water is always a good place to start when dealing with both dry and dehydrated skin.

Once you determine what you’re dealing with, update your skincare routine with a hydrating face oil (Hello Moon Beam ✨), hydrating serum with Hyaluronic Acid, or an anti-aging face moisturizer.

HAPPY MONDAY LOVERS 💚

How’s everyone feeling? Life’s been heavy for a lot of us lately, the energy is a mix of up and downs, uncertainty and pressure.

In these moments it’s so important to remember looking after our body, mind and spirit is the key to survival.

Prioritise YOURSELF ✨

Life is busy and it can be easy to leave yourself last on your to do list 🗒

Here’s what looking after yourself can look like for the busy woman ⬇️

🌿 When you pull up at home, take 1 minute before rushing inside to take 5 deep belly breathes in and out to reset.

🌿 Sleeping 30 minutes earlier than usual each night. Try it for a week and notice the difference.

🌿 Positive self talk ONLY. Try for one day to be aware of any negative language you use towards yourself- you’ll be shocked!

🌿 Ask for help and ACCEPT it when it’s offered - this can often be the hardest thing to do, you’ll thank yourself later. It’s acceptable to get back all that you give - don’t forget that

🌿 Sitting in the sunshine for minimum 5 minutes daily (uv protected of course 😉)

Nothing like a gentle reminder to let go of all that tension🍃
Who needs this today?
Is your mind busy, or is it quiet?
How is your body? Is it tense or relaxed?
Have you checked in on yourself today?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As much as it can sound strange, more often than not we don’t take time to acknowledge how we are feeling both mentally and physically throughout the day.
We are so busy caught up with day to day responsibilities that we don’t recognise that the body is telling us how we are storing those emotions we aren’t even consciously acknowledging.
I urge you to take a minute for yourself.
Close your eyes. By closing the eyes it makes our other physical senses more switched on.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now focus on your breathe and do a self body scan.
Ask yourself - how your feeling in this moment.
Am I holding tension anywhere? Is my jaw clenched?
Heart racing? Shoulders up to my ears? Am I overwhelmed?
Is my breathing shallow or deep?
When we are anxious we take quick short breaths which can lead to further anxious feelings.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you use essential oils, Grab one
Take the lid off and inhale.
Take deep, slow breaths.
Let the olfactory system work it’s magic and connect with your limbic system.
The most pronounced way to reach the the emotional part of our brain is through our sense of smell.
We need to be reminded of these tools right in front of us from time to time as it’s easy to forget.

Also handy to engage your other senses too.
Pour a herbal tea or whatever your into I won’t judge🤫
Get out in some sunshine☀️
Take in some deep breathes and stimulate that vague nerve and lower your stress responses.

We are often so rushed to practice mindfulness when we need it the most.
