The way NDIS claims are processed is changing.

The NDIA is introducing a new claiming rule that will affect how quickly NDIS claims, invoices and reimbursement requests need to be submitted.

From 1 December 2026, claims will need to be submitted within 90 days of the support being delivered, replacing the current two-year claiming window. Claims submitted outside this timeframe will not be paid unless exceptional circumstances apply.

These changes are designed to improve the timeliness and integrity of NDIS payments and may affect participants, providers and plan managers.

Did you know your Core funding can cover so much more than just support with personal care and household tasks? For instance, low-cost AT for items under $1500. This might include things like:
✔️shower stools
✔️adaptive cutlery
✔️simple mobility aids

And if the item costs under $1,500 and you have available funds, you generally don't need to submit quotes or get prior approval from the NDIA (unless it's a high-risk item that needs safety advice).
