Trained in counselling, hypnotherapy & coaching a combination of these modalities can be used to help you reach your goals sooner. Many people will, at some point in their lives, find themselves in the role of a counsellor, However, wont have an understanding of the concept of counselling or what the role of the professional counsellor entails. There is a big difference between a professional counsellor and a person who uses some counselling skills as part of their role, for example their role as a friend or colleague. A professional counsellor is a highly trained individual who is able to use a different range of counselling approaches when working with clients. So given this information, it is important to know a little about me. My Background... Having spent many years working in the finance industry in a corporate role, I found myself seeking regular massages to care for my mind, body, and spirit. This then led to me studying a Diploma of Remedial Massage, Diploma of Corporate Stress Therapies, and various other qualifications in child and adolescent massage. During this 15-year journey, it became obvious that I was bound to undertake an additional life journey into a Bachelor Degree in Counselling at the Australian College of Applied Psychology. Working initially in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility, I decided to spread my wings in a more generalist area and started with the community aid centre, ADRA, in Blacktown. There I have had the opportunity to meet and work with many clients suffering various different conditions from depression to addiction, schizophrenia, anxiety and trauma, just to name a few. Looking back at my career and occupations, I have always had a passion for working with people and helping them to feel better about themselves and their lives, in a safe, supportive environment. I continually undertake professional education and am an active participant in local interagency meetings and interested in local issues pertaining to mental health. My additional studies thus far have been in the areas of Clinical Hypnotherapy, Pain Management using the OLD PAIN 2 GO methodology, sand tray therapy, trauma, cognitive behaviour therapy for generalised anxiety, and grief and loss. I am passionate about my own personal and professional development, which includes regular clinical supervision to enhance the quality of my work, meaning clients have the best possible counselling relationship, allowing optimising our work together. Qualifications: Bachelor of Counselling; Dip. Clinical Hypnotherapy and NLP, Old Pain 2 Go Practitioner; Diploma of Remedial Massage; Diploma of Corporate Stress Therapies; Diploma of Sports Injury Therapy; Infant Massage Instructor. Professional Memberships Australian Counsellors Association; Australian Traditional Medicine Society; Australian Hypnotherapy Association. Are you ready to take the first step to a new/better life NOW? If your answer is YES, contact me on 0417 667 329 or Send me a private message to organise a consultation. I also offer a free 15 minute phone consult.

Already dreading the Christmas social season?

The work Christmas parties. Family gatherings. Invitations you wish you could decline. The pressure to make conversation and meeting new people.

For many, Christmas is a time of celebration and connection, but for others, the approaching social season brings weeks of worry, self-doubt and anxiety.

Perhaps you find yourself rehearsing conversations before they happen, worrying about what others think, or replaying everything you've said long after an event has finished or maybe you avoid social occasions altogether, even when part of you would really like to go.

What if this year could be different?

I'm pleased to announce the introduction of two new programs designed to help people understand what's holding them back socially and begin building confidence through practical, personalised support.

SOCIAL CONFIDENCE: BEYOND THE FEAR

A four-session counselling and coaching program designed to help you:

✔ Understand why certain social situations feel so uncomfortable.

✔ Recognise and challenge the thoughts that fuel self-doubt.

✔ Develop practical strategies to manage social anxiety.

✔ Take manageable steps towards participating more comfortably in social situations.

✔ Build skills you can continue using long after the program finishes.

The program includes a professionally presented workbook, practical take-home resources and a guided audio exercise.

SOCIAL CONFIDENCE: BEYOND THE FEAR PLUS

A six-session program combining counselling, coaching and clinical hypnotherapy.

This option incorporates the same practical foundations, with additional sessions allowing time for individualised hypnotherapy experiences.

Hypnotherapy offers another way of working, using focused attention, therapeutic imagery and guided suggestions to explore and rehearse helpful responses.

Some people are interested in incorporating hypnotherapy, while others prefer a counselling and coaching approach.

Both are valid choices. You can choose the approach you're most comfortable with.

You don't need to become the life of the party nor the loudest person in the room.

You don't even need to enjoy every social occasion.

Social confidence isn't about changing who you are. It's about having more freedom to be yourself without fear constantly holding you back.

With Christmas approaching, now is an opportunity to begin developing skills that can help you navigate the social season and beyond.

In person and online sessions available.

Interested in finding out more?

Send me a private message or call to enquire about the programs and which approach may suit your needs.

You deserve to have a choice about the social situations you participate in, rather than feeling that anxiety is making those decisions for you.

Curious about Clinical Hypnotherapy?

If you've been visiting the Mind Body Spirit Festival in Sydney this weekend, you may have had the opportunity to learn a little more about clinical hypnotherapy and how it can help people make positive changes in their lives.

I was supposed to be there myself, helping out at the Clinical Hypnotherapists Association stand and chatting with visitors about hypnotherapy. Unfortunately, recent surgery had other plans for me!

I've been hearing from my colleagues at the festival that there's been enormous interest in hypnotherapy, which is wonderful to hear.

For many people, hypnotherapy is something they've heard about but aren't quite sure how it works, what it feels like or whether it could help them.

As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Counsellor and Solution Focused Therapist based in North-West Sydney, I work with people experiencing anxiety, stress, overthinking, confidence difficulties, unwanted habits and other challenges that can make everyday life harder than it needs to be.

Clinical hypnotherapy can be a helpful approach for some people, and I also incorporate counselling and solution-focused strategies depending on each person's needs.

My approach is practical, supportive and focused on helping people make meaningful changes in their lives.

If you've been exploring hypnotherapy at the festival, or you're simply curious about whether it might be suitable for you, I'm happy to have a conversation.

I offer a complimentary 20-minute introductory phone consultation, so you can ask questions, learn more about my approach and decide whether you'd like to take the next step.

I offer clinical hypnotherapy appointments in North-West Sydney, including the Rouse Hill, Schofields, Tallawong and surrounding Hills District areas, as well as online consultations across Australia.

After my first hip replacement, I knew the other hip would need attention one day. So I made myself promises.
I'd make changes to my health. I'd do all the things that might buy me more time.
Sadly, I didn't keep those promises. Life, pain and exhaustion got in the way, and the time I hoped to buy ran out.

I'm sharing this not to be hard on myself, but because I know so many people carry the same quiet guilt. When we're in pain, the energy we need to make changes is often the very thing pain takes from us. That isn't failure. It's being human.
Is there a promise you made yourself that you're still carrying guilt about? What would it be like to offer yourself some understanding instead?

When surgery stopped being a choice, the hardest part was still the weighing up. My family, my clients, my business.

Many of us put our own health last while caring for everyone else. Looking after yourself is part of looking after the people you love.

If you're putting off something important for your health, what's one small step that would move you closer to it?

A client once told me they thought counsellors had perfect lives, because we know how to “fix” everything. I understood why they might think that. But a counsellor's role isn't to fix. It's to encourage and support people as they discover their own strengths and find their own way forward. Knowing the tools certainly hasn't made me immune to life's challenges. That's why I've chosen to share part of my recent journey, in the hope it helps someone feel less alone.

For more than fifteen years, I have lived with hip and back pain.
I have three inflammatory autoimmune conditions. My right hip was replaced six years ago, and earlier this year my left hip deteriorated to the point where I could barely walk.
Pain touches everything. It affected my sleep, my mood and the way I thought about life. I used the tools I teach every day, and they helped me cope. But no amount of positive psychology can fix a hip that needs replacing. A physical problem needed a physical solution, and recognising that was a turning point for me.
I've now had that surgery, and over the coming weeks I'll be sharing the emotional side of recovery, the parts we don't often talk about. I'm home, back at work and seeing clients as usual.
If you're living with ongoing pain, how has it shaped the way you see your life?

It takes something to send that first message.

Most people sit with the idea of reaching out for a while before they do it, wondering if their situation is 'bad enough,' or whether they'll know what to say.
For what it's worth, you don't need the right words, and you don't need things to have reached a breaking point. You just need to be willing to start.

If you've been thinking about it, that's usually a sign worth listening to.

You finished work hours ago. So why are you still there in your head?

Maybe you're replaying a conversation, thinking about something you didn't finish, planning what needs to happen tomorrow or checking an email because it will “only take a minute.”

Perhaps you're sitting at home with the people you care about, but part of your attention is still somewhere back at work.

Switching off isn't always as simple as closing the laptop or walking out the door.

That's why I created The Switch Off Blueprint.

It's a practical, self-paced online program designed to help you create a clearer end to your working day and stop work taking over so much of your evening.

You'll learn practical ways to deal with unfinished work, recurring thoughts and rumination, create better boundaries, work out what actually helps you recover, and build your own personal Switch Off Plan.

The program includes:

5 self-paced video modules
Comprehensive participant workbook
Personal Switch Off Plan
15-minute guided Switch Off hypnosis audio

You can start whenever you're ready and work through it at your own pace and yours to keep if you need a refresher at any time.

$97

Because your working day deserves an ending and your evening deserves a beginning.

One reason work can be hard to leave behind is that unfinished things have a habit of staying mentally active.

You finish for the day, but your brain keeps reminding you about the email you haven't answered, the conversation you need to have, the job that isn't finished or the thing you can't afford to forget tomorrow.

One simple thing you can try before finishing work is to get it out of your head and put it somewhere you trust.

Write down what's unfinished and, where possible, the next action.

Not just:
“Finish report.”

But:
“Tomorrow at 9am — check the figures from Sarah and finish the last section.”

You haven't completed the work, but you've given your brain somewhere to put it.

That's one of the practical ideas I build on in The Switch Off Blueprint.

The program is for people who finish work physically but find themselves continuing to carry it mentally through the evening.
