The evolution of CALMA 🌿
When I first started CALMA, I had an idea of what it might look like. But, the truth is that it hasn’t unfolded quite as I imagined.
Alongside 1:1 holistic counselling, CALMA has opened the door to other kinds of work, including supporting older people and NDIS participants. Different roles, different conversations, but a common thread: human connection, a little more space to be ourselves, and the opportunity to make someone’s day a little bit better.
I’ve also discovered something important along the way. Meaningful work doesn’t have to come at the expense of having a life outside of it. CALMA has given me opportunities to contribute in ways that feel worthwhile, while also allowing me more space for myself, my family and the things that matter to me.
I didn’t have the whole picture when I started, and I’m learning that I don’t need to.
For me, part of the CALMA philosophy is being open to what unfolds, staying curious, and finding a way forward that feels true to who you are.
It seems fitting that in building CALMA, I’m getting to practise that philosophy myself. Not perfectly, and certainly not with everything figured out, but one step at a time.
Feeling grateful for the people I’ve met, the opportunities that have come my way, and the unexpected ways this little idea is evolving ✨

Pause. Reflect. Be curious.
