Meet Tarryn. 💙

Tarryn is one of our Community Support Workers and has been part of the JJ Care team for the past 3 years.

In this video, she shares why consistency is so important in community support work. Having familiar faces and regular support helps participants build trust, develop meaningful relationships with their carers, and feel more comfortable and confident in their day-to-day lives.

Tarryn brings a calm, positive approach to everything she does, and we’re incredibly appreciative of the care, reliability and genuine connection she brings to the people she supports every day.

Thank you, Tarryn, for the difference you continue to make in our community.

The unsung heroes. The busy dads. The devoted daughters. The grandkids doing their best. The neighbour lending a hand. The lifelong friend who always shows up. 🤍

To everyone quietly caring for someone they love - you don’t have to do it all on your own.

We asked the team to share their best tips for carers, and number 3 is one we hope you take to heart: it’s okay to ask for help, and make sure that with a helping hand, you can keep being the one that is there to wake up in the night, to arrange the appointments, and to make sure dinner is on the table - for years to come.

If you’re unsure what support is available or where to start, our team is here to help. And they love a chat!

People, supporting people, to support other people! That's who we are.

No one plans for dementia. But as needs change, having the right support in place can make all the difference.

Creating a Plan B can help you and your family feel more prepared, supported and confident about the future, and make the most of the present moment without stressing about the future.

This might include respite care, additional support at home or in the community, a day program, or more specialised care as needs become more complex.

We understand that exploring these options can feel overwhelming. Every dementia journey is different, and our experienced team is here to listen, guide you through the available choices and help you plan with confidence and clarity.

Our team would love to help you explore your options. Contact us for an obligation free discovery chat.

It’s the little moments that matter. 🤍

Support isn’t always about big milestones. Sometimes, it’s the small, everyday moments that make the biggest difference. Whether it’s heading out for lunch, visiting a favourite place, enjoying a good chat, going shopping or simply keeping up with a familiar routine, these moments bring connection, joy and something to look forward to.

We love being part of the moments that help the people we support stay connected to their community, the people they love and the things that make them smile.

Because sometimes, it’s the little things that make a day feel special.

When Justine’s mum wasn’t getting the support she needed, Justine went looking for something better. She wanted a provider where they could choose their own support workers instead of being allocated whoever was free.

Now her mum has a small team who help with shopping, everyday tasks and something just as important: company.

“They’re more like family than workers. They actually care about my Mum.”

Her mum can’t always remember names, so when Justine calls, she just says every one of them is her favourite 🤍

Thank you for trusting us with your mum, Justine. This is exactly why we do what we do.

A home should feel like home.

And home doesn't feel the same for everyone. Whether you're finding your new home with us, getting a little more support to stay in the home you're in, or coming for a short stay in one of our supported homes - what makes it feel like home is different for every person.

But home is a place that you return to - not a place you're locked in to. It's also about getting out and about into the community, having a great day, and then returning to the sanctuary of home and all the things that make it feel like just that - just for you 💙

Real life changes, so the support someone may need changes too. What support is working today may look different tomorrow.

When receiving supports from our team, you will have a dedicated Care Partner. Our Care Partners role is to make sure the support we provide is working, and keeps working - including any changes you may need.

They regularly check in to see how your support is going and adapt as your needs, goals and circumstances evolve. This might be as simple as needing a little more help with household activities or preparing meals. Our care partners are there to guide you through all changes that may be unfamiliar to you, and spend time coming out to visit, getting to know you, and know your team, so are well across all your supports and ready to respond when changes happen.
