During National Carers Week, from 11 to 17 October, we thank carers for everything they do for our families and communities. The 2026 theme, “Care for a carer: Making carers visible”, reminds us that carers need support as well.

Here are some ways you can help:
✅ Offer practical help, like bringing over dinner or picking up groceries.
✅ Reach out and listen to them, without feeling the need to give advice right away.
✅ Keep inviting them to get together, even if they often can’t make it.
✅ Support them in finding time for their own appointments, hobbies, and rest.
✅ Ask them what kind of support they need, instead of guessing.

To every carer: we notice your dedication, we appreciate all you do, and we thank you.

Love it or hate it? Daylight saving time is here. Keep Australia's different time zones in mind when making interstate calls!

Check out Eastbrooke's latest news.

Daylight saving means many Australians get more sunshine when they’re free, whether that’s for an evening walk, dinner outside, or a swim after work. The only downside is that your alarm still expects you to get up on time. Why shift the clocks? Daylight saving moves the clocks forward, so an ho...

Scams can affect anyone, but knowledge and awareness help keep our communities safe. During Scams Awareness Week, from 24 to 28 August 2026, we support Services Australia’s call for everyone to become educated, alert and informed. Take time to recognise the warning signs, question unexpected contact and talk openly with family and friends. We all have a responsibility to protect one another, particularly older Australians and people who may be more vulnerable to online scams.

This Scams Awareness Week, it’s important to remember that no one’s just a number. That’s why we’re encouraging you to talk about scams, learn from each other and help make sure no one feels unsafe.

We’re also working to help protect people from scams by sharing warnings, advice and support for anyone affected by scams or identity theft.

If something doesn’t feel right, remember: Stop. Check. Protect. Report.
