Manly Food Co-operative Sick of all the packaging? Our grocery store offers a wide range of zero-waste goods.

Our goals -

• To make available at reasonable cost, high quality food and other goods
• Offer the best health option food possible, that is, organic or biodynamic; and if that is not available, offer the next best thing e.g. chemical-free
• Offer food that has been produced with environmental sensitivity
• Purchase in bulk, thus offering customers the best price available on goods
• Avoid waste created by over-packaging by encouraging customers to re-use jars, bags and containers
• Be a part of our local community and offer service in an old-fashioned, personal way
• Be an active participant in events that help raise awareness of environmental issues

We’re udderly impressed with our fresh and creamy milk on tap from Tilba Dairy on the NSW south coast. If you haven’t already tried it, this is the week.

They have Jersey cows, which make the best tasting and creamiest milk. BYO bottle or buy one from us.

How does a cow read a book? She skims it moo-dily!

Until Wednesday 28 October, Tilba Dairy Jersey milk is only $3.29/kilo (litre) on tap!

This got so many votes in our member survey that we've already ordered it in.

Naked Byron hummus comes in a glass jar and is made with chickpeas, real olive oil, tahini and other wholesome ingredients.

The member price for this 270g jar is $9.95 and volunteers get it for $8.30.

Snives Honey are not only famous for their seasonal honey in jars with the beautiful labels - they also provide us with bulk honey. The local honey is collected from hives in Terrey Hills and Ingleside.

Even better, we return their bulk containers for reuse over and over again. It's truly a packaging-free option.

We love it when we are able to receive our bulk goods in reusable containers. Shout out also to Soprano Coffee who reuse the same drums for their bulk deliveries.

Saving things from landfill! 🪛

Last weekend we held our first community repair event 'Manly Fixers'.

It's part of our monthly sustainable living event program.

We fixed many items of clothing & jewellery, a stuffed toy, a leather bag, a wooden stool and more!

Congrats to volunteer fixers Bob, Daiana, Keelah, Vince & Yee. And to our participants who got involved and took home valuable new skills. 🪡
