A Tale of Two Ladies – Three Months On

Three months ago, we shared the story of two wonderful women who secured rental accommodation and took a huge step towards a brighter, more independent future.

Today, we’re celebrating how far they’ve come!

Having a place to call home was about so much more than getting the keys. It was about security, stability, choice and the opportunity to build a future on their own terms.

Over the past three months, we’ve continued to walk alongside both ladies as they settle into their homes, develop everyday living skills and build confidence in their independence.

And nature continues to play its part!

One finds peace and calm in the quietness of the bush and the coastline, while the other thrives on movement, adventure and challenging herself through active experiences.

Two different women, two unique journeys, but one important thing in common — discovering their strengths and growing in confidence.

For us at Ocean & Trail Escapes, it's about so much more than outings and activities. It's about relationships, encouragement, celebrating the little wins and helping people realise just how much they are capable of.

We feel incredibly privileged to be part of their journeys and grateful to work alongside the dedicated teams supporting them.

Three months ago, we celebrated two women finding a home. Today, we celebrate the confidence, resilience and possibilities that continue to grow from that foundation.

Because sometimes, the little steps lead to the biggest changes.

At Ocean & Trail Escapes, we believe that everyone deserves to feel welcome, valued and included. We all have different abilities, interests, personalities and preferences, and that's what makes our little community so special. It's not about everyone doing the same thing; it's about making sure everyone has the opportunity to join in, have fun and create memories in their own way.

Last week was a perfect example of just how diverse our adventures can be — and the weather certainly kept us on our toes! From raincoats and umbrellas to the magic of Frozen The Musical in Newcastle, building driftwood shelters on the beach and exploring the mind-bending Museum of Illusions in Sydney, we certainly packed a lot in!

There were different experiences, new things to discover, moments of excitement, plenty of smiles and, most importantly, time spent together.

It's these moments that remind us why we do what we do. It's about more than outings and destinations. It's about connection, friendship, trying something new, feeling accepted and knowing you belong. As so eloquently stated by one participant - "the social component of the NDIS is very important to me."

At Ocean & Trail Escapes, everyone has a place, everyone has something to offer, and every adventure is better when we share it together.
