Most work-related musculoskeletal injuries can get treatment here in Dawson. No more having to travel to Whitehorse or do virtual physiotherapy appointments.

⛏️The Chiropractor can do injury assessments and treatment planning. This will take some strain off our Family Physicians in town.
⛏️No reason to not seek care and let an injury worsen.
⛏️Continue working in Dawson while getting treatment, so you can keep earning money.
⛏️Less chance of getting additional injuries during the trip to Whitehorse.
⛏️Save the taxpayers $$$ from Yukon WSCB putting claimants up in hotels in Whitehorse.

Need to book an assessment?
1. Report your injury to your workplace supervisor.
2. Report the injury to Yukon WSIB.
3. Book a WCB assessment with either a Chiropractor or Family Physician.
4. Two follow-up treatments can be had while waiting for the full care plan to be approved.

📅Summer clinic hours at Yukon Spa:

My clinical summer plans:
1️⃣ I’m arranging to be set up with the Yukon WSCB so injured workers can receive covered care here in Dawson. I’ll make a post once this is in place 🤞
2️⃣ I’ll be away for 1 week each month for trips back to Calgary and to provide clinical care in Inuvik and Mayo.
3️⃣ I’m considering running some evidence-based group exercise classes for hip and knee osteoarthritis, and for chronic back pain, but this is a bit further down the pipeline

Just Giancarlo’s summer plans:
4️⃣ I’m enjoying volunteering some of my extra time to a few organizations around Dawson.
5️⃣ I’m planning to spend more time travelling and exploring around the Yukon and Alaska on my weekends starting in July :)

Hello from Inuvik, Northwest Territories!

Thank you to the multiple members of Inuvik 's healthcare community, including massage therapist Natasha, who arranged to have me do a clinical outreach in town for a few days. Catching a quick Air North, flight from Dawson City to Inuvik is an easy way to provide musculoskeletal healthcare to this community that doesn't currently have a Chiropractor.

Chiropractors are an effective solution to rural musculoskeletal healthcare due to the high level of clinical training and low amount of tools and resources needed for Chiropractors to provide effective diagnosis and treatment for musculoskeletal health conditions.

I bought myself an electroacupuncture device, and I like it a lot 😄 Adding electricity through acupuncture needles is really helpful for arthritis, shoulder, chronic low back, and sciatica troubles 🦴 It can also be used for intramuscular stimulation (IMS) or for pain relief like a TENS machine ⚡️

✨Free Assessment Week July 14-18th with myself. Details below 👇. Consider sharing this with those who may need it.

Finances can be a barrier to accessing care for body pains and can lead to prolonged or unnecessary suffering. I would like to decrease this barrier by offering some services free of charge next week. Here is how:

👉 For new and returning patients who want to have a body issue assessed, and for whom finances are a barrier to seeking help. (Yukoners only).
👉 An intake or extended follow-up appointment will be provided “pro bono” (I will waive the usual $150 fee).
👉 We'll follow the usual chiropractic assessment process. I will collect your clinical history, perform a physical examination, provide a diagnosis, and provide recommendations. This usually includes manual therapies treatment and some home exercise prescription during the same appointment.
👉 If subsequent appointments are required for a treatment plan, these will follow my usual fee schedule.

Please call Yukon Spa at 867-993-3332 or contact myself to book this appointment for next week. We all may need to be a bit flexible with appointment times during the day depending on demand.

✨While not required, you may consider making a small donation to my ongoing charitable donation box, which will be distributed later this year (you won't receive a chiropractic receipt or charities donation receipt for donations).
