I often get asked how long it takes me to set up and pack up my mobile dental hygiene equipment. The answer? 21 seconds 😝 no About 8–10 minutes on either side.

There’s a little more to mobile dental hygiene than just showing up with a suitcase! 😉

Every piece of equipment has its place, and once everything is cleaned, processed and packed away, I’m ready to hit the road and bring professional dental hygiene care to the next person.

YOUR DENTAL HYGIENE APPOINTMENT IS MORE THAN THE TIME YOU SPEND IN THE CHAIR.

There’s a lot that happens before, during and after your appointment that you may never see. 🦷

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
• Reviewing your medical and dental history
• Preparing and setting up equipment
• Ensuring everything needed for your appointment is ready
• Preparing a clean, safe treatment environment

AFTER YOU LEAVE
• Cleaning and disinfecting the treatment area
• Breaking down and transporting equipment
• Cleaning, packaging and sterilizing instruments
• Properly processing and storing sterilized instruments

AND THEN THERE’S THE PAPERWORK…
• Documenting your treatment and clinical findings
• Updating your dental records
• Recording recommendations and follow-up needs
• Reviewing insurance and direct-billing information
• Communicating with your dentist or other healthcare providers when needed
• Preparing referrals when something requires further assessment
• Following up on concerns that came up during your appointment

And sometimes there’s a little more…

A patient may need extra time, a conversation with a family member, a referral, help navigating their dental benefits, or a plan for their next visit.

That work matters too.

At Hygiene in Motion, you’re not just paying for the time you spend in the chair. Bonus I don’t charge extra for anything! Not for my travel! Not for the behind the scenes! Just the work that I provide, and I follow the Alberta fee guide.

You’re paying for the professional care, preparation, clinical knowledge, infection prevention, documentation and follow-through that happen around your appointment.
