đą Save Money on Your Phone and Internet Bills: Discount Programs for Disabled Canadians
Letâs be honest â phone and internet bills in Canada arenât just high⌠theyâre comically high. Like âDo I really need Wi-Fi and groceries this month?â high.
And if youâre living with a disability, chances are youâre already juggling more costs than most â mobility aids, appointments, therapies, supports, medications â all the things that keep you going but rarely get discounted.
What most people donât realize is that there are programs designed to lower your phone and internet bills if youâre disabled.
Theyâre just not well advertised. And some of them seem buried under 14 pages of legalese and a suspiciously upbeat government website.
Thatâs why we broke it all down for you: what to say, who to contact, and what proof theyâll ask for.

â ď¸ Read This Before You Apply for the DTC
The DTC is easy to get only if the paperwork is done exactly the way CRA expects.
And most people â including doctors â donât know what that actually means.
𧊠The online form (Part A) is just the beginning.
đ Thereâs also a 16-page medical form (Part B) your doctor must complete.
But hereâs the issue:
Most doctors donât understand what CRA really wants.
They donât know which boxes are âtrick questions.â
They donât know what counts â or what hurts your chances.
You send them a code⌠they fill out the form without talking to you about your challenges⌠and hope for the best.
But your doctor doesnât live with you.
They may know your condition â but not how it affects your daily life.
They donât see your mornings, your routines, your limits, your adaptations.
â One missed checkbox â especially in the Mental Functions section â can mean an automatic denial.
â Some forms are denied so poorly theyâre impossible to fix.
â And reapplying can mean waiting a full year to try again.
â Denials have been going up â fast â since CRA launched its âeasy online applicationâ tool.
đ§ This Isnât a Quick Form â Itâs a Journey
If this all sounds overwhelming, thatâs okay.
Youâre not expected to be an expert. Youâre not supposed to do this alone.
Thatâs why weâre here â to guide you through it, step-by-step.
You do NOT have to use the Apply Online method - and shouldnât!
The good olâ pen and paper version or fillable .PDF are still your very best options.
If your doctor insists you use the apply online method you CAN get help and support BEFORE you do so.
We offer professional, personalized support to help you avoid costly mistakes and get it done right the first time.
Whether itâs your first application or your fifth appealâŚ
Whether youâre unsure if you qualify, afraid of making a mistake, or are too stressed and burnt out to want to figure this out on your ownâŚ
We can help you navigate this the right way â with support, clarity, and compassion.
