Location: Near Cowichan District Hospital in Duncan.

My educational YouTube videos have been helping other foot care nurses, and I also use this footage in my courses to teach the techniques and skills I’ve developed over the years.

I’m now planning to offer a handful of volunteer appointments once a month for people willing to have their foot care treatment filmed for educational purposes.

I’m looking for people with:

• Thick, fungal toenails
• Chronic, difficult ingrown toenails
• Pressure areas that cause corns
• Deep, thick, cracked or fissured heels

Your privacy is protected. Your face, name, and other identifying information will be excluded. Shared photos and video clips will show only your feet and me performing the treatment.

This is an opportunity to receive free advanced foot care from an experienced nurse and clinical educator. You’ll only pay for any products or devices you take home or leave wearing on your feet.

You must be able to walk up and back down seven steps to access the appointment.

After 10 years of using, distributing, and teaching others the use of burs, I finally made it 'official' and completed The Art & Science of Burring courses level 1 &2. 🤭
There were a few little gems of bur use that I had not considered, and it was interesting to compare how she addressed certain conditions vs how I do. 🤓

A little heads-up from Longevity Foot Care 💙

Effective November 15, 2026, our pricing will be changing for clinic and community foot care appointments:

Clinic appointments: $85
In-home/community appointments: $100

We are always very cautious when increasing our prices. Many of our clients are seniors, and we understand that even a relatively small increase matters when the cost of almost everything has gone up.

At the same time, the cost of providing quality nursing foot care has increased too. Supplies, travel, operating costs and, importantly, nursing wages have all changed. Nurses should be compensated appropriately for their skill and experience, and Longevity needs to keep pace with that.

There is also a bigger reason why this matters.

Being able to retain great foot care nurses means our clients benefit from nurses who stay with us, gain experience, become increasingly skilled and develop long-term relationships with the people they care for. A strong, well-staffed team also gives us the ability to spend more time training, mentoring and continuing to improve the quality of care across Longevity.

We put a lot into our appointments beyond simply providing routine foot care — sterile instrumentation, ongoing clinical education, support between appointments when needed, experienced scheduling and administration, and a team that genuinely cares about the people we serve.

We have tried to balance all of that with keeping nursing foot care accessible, and we feel these new rates are fair and sustainable.

We’re giving everyone more than two months’ notice so there is plenty of time to prepare for the change.

📣 TWO VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR FREE NURSING FOOT CARE! 🦶

We are looking for two people with genuine foot care concerns, such as:

* Calluses or corns
* Ingrown or difficult toenails
* Thick or problematic nails
* Other foot care problems

Please note: This opportunity is not intended for someone with healthy feet who only needs routine nail trimming. We need volunteers with concerns that will provide a meaningful learning experience.

Your foot care will be provided completely free of charge by a trained nurse completing the final day of their foot care nursing mentorship. All care will be directly supervised by an expert Advanced Foot Care Nurse.

📅 Date: August 24th
🕒 Time: between 10-2 pm
📍 Location: Duncan, Gibbins rd

Only two appointments are available!
