Cinnamon Protein Muffins

I always like to have high protein snacks around during the week - prepackaged snacks are great for when you are on the go but if you have some extra time on the weekends I highly suggest giving some recipes like this a try! ⁣

I experimented with this recipe this morning just using ingredients I already had in my kitchen and they turned out so good! The main ingredient in these is a protein pancake mix! Shop around when looking for a good quality protein pancake mix - always read the ingredient list and check for added sugars! ⁣

What you’ll need:⁣
1 cup protein pancake mix ⁣
1/2 cup almond flour ⁣
1 tbsp. ground flaxseed ⁣
1 tbsp. cinnamon ⁣
1 tsp. baking powder ⁣
1 egg⁣
1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce ⁣
1 tsp. vanilla ⁣
1/2 cup melted coconut oil ⁣

For the topping:⁣
2 tbsp. coconut ⁣
1 tsp. maple syrup⁣
1/4 cup coconut cream⁣

Mix together the pancake mix, almond flour, cinnamon, flaxseed, and baking powder. In a separate bowl whisk together the egg, vanilla, coconut oil, and apple sauce. Mix the wet and dry ingredients together and set aside. ⁣

To make the cinnamon crumble on top I just mixed together coconut sugar, maple syrup, and a bit of water to get a wet mixture. Spray a muffin tin with oil and pour the batter about 3/4 of the way. Add the cinnamon crumble mixture on top and back at 325 for about 20 minutes. ⁣

I added coconut cream to the top but they are so good without as well! ⁣

**for a higher protein version you can add 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder

Our 6 week challenge meal plans include a vegetarian option ☺️

It’s easier to eat more veggies if you know how to prepare them in a way that will make them taste good!

A kale salad might not seem very appealing when you think of how tough and bitter it can taste raw - but you are probably missing one major step: you have to MASSAGE IT!

Every time I tell someone you have to massage kale to truly enjoy it in a salad they look at me like I’m crazy. So why should you do it? Massaging kale will help to break down it’s tough fibres and eliminate it’s bitter taste.

Here is what to do:
1. Cut the leaves off the the stem
2. Add 1/2 tbsp. olive oil to the kale
3. MASSAGE - work those greens with your hands until you notice the volume has decreased and they feel much softer (2-3 minutes)

It’s a complete game changer and I guarantee your opinions on kale will change 🥬

This is one of my favourite spins on a more nutrient dense Caesar salad: kale, sweet potato, crispy chickpeas, and a yogurt based dressing 💚

🤓The study was conducted on 10 patients with major depression, including 9 with anxiety, 7 with a past history of substance abuse (6 with an op**te abuse and 1 with an alcohol abuse history), and 3 with post traumatic stress disorder.

👩🏻‍💻The results: 6 out of 10 patients experienced a remission of their depression, and 7 out of 10 patients experienced a remission of their anxiety.

My favourite ways to use up leftovers ⬇️

This is a typical breakfast for me - Vegetable scramble with whatever veggies were left from the night before!

If I don’t come up with a plan for my leftovers I will almost always end up forgetting about them 🤦🏻‍♀️

Adding leftovers to new meals the next day is my favourite way to use up whatever is in the fridge without eating the same thing over and over again.

Some of my favourite ways to do this are:

Throwing leftover shrimp or steak into a cobb salad ✔️

Turning any leftover grains (quinoa, brown rice) into a power bowl with protein and veggies ✔️

Adding leftover roasted vegetables into an egg scramble ✔️

Wish you would open up a studio in Thorold. Hint hint ... Pine plaza has lots of parking and retal space.
WOW WOW WOW !!!!! Here's my story: October 2016, my workvan got creamed by a guy running a red light at 90 kph. 6 and 7 disc now pushing up against nerve bundle at base of neck. Steady headache and bad stiffness....no one can fix this...only meds to ease the pain. Lower right back messed up bad....only meds to ease the pain. Concussion causing constant pressure in my head. No meds can help unless they're the really strong kind that just knock you out. Physio (tens machine) did not help much. So just what am I supposed to do after dealing with this for 8 months? My wife saw an ad for A Healthier You....we checked it out and Fiona introduced me to some stupid ring technology....yeah right, but after eight months I was willing to try anything at this point. 30 mins with the PMFT system and I got 3 hours of feeling 80% better. It's probably just a fluke because I actually had the opportunity to lie down with my eyes closed in a dark room. So two weeks later I go and try it again. Well DAMN ! Another 30 minute session and nearly two and a half hours afterwards I felt really really good. It took some time to convince my insurance company that this thing was really helping me. I now have my very own machine and I use it daily and it has made a huge difference in my life. Please keep in mind that this has not cured my symptoms but it is enabled me to get some things done throughout the day that I not been able to do since October of 2016. I'm also able to start doing proper exercise. I have stopped using meds all together and I'm only using the Centurion EZY system. I strongly suggest that if you dealing with any sort of back pain knee pain or any kind of pain throughout your body to please talk to Fiona and get her to show you this wonderful device. And no I am not getting any payment for what I have just wrote. ( but maybe she can give me a really good discount on helping me get rid of my stomach fat now) Thank you very much Fiona Doug
