Notice of rate changes effective May 1:

Dear clients of Momentum Wellness,

Thank you for many years of trusting us with your massage therapy care. After a careful and thorough review of massage therapy rates in our area and an assessment of the clinic's financial obligations, in order to stay relevant and able to provide you with the care you have come to rely on, we are letting you know that we are increasing rates on all massage therapy treatment options effective May 1. New rates are HST inclusive and will be:

30 minutes: $70 (booked only at the discretion of the provider)
45 minutes: $90
60 minutes: $115
75 minutes: $140
90 minutes: $170

Please don't hesitate to let us know if this impacts your extended health benefits as we'd love to work with you to ensure collaborative care and affordability, without sacrificing effectiveness. When one door closes, another opens... we had a bittersweet week as we said good bye to d'Entremont, wishing her an amazing future in her new career as a social worker!! Abby's last shift was Monday... and as we said farewell, we also are WELCOMING Jonathan Myers RMT to the Momentum team!! Jonathan will be working multiple shifts each week... and we know it's been difficult to get an appointment lately... this will change that! Jonathan comes to us as a graduate of CCMH and has been practicing in the Bay area for a few years already... I hear his tapotement skills are second to none!🙏🙌🥰

A recent post on social media... I wonder how many people realize that RMTs, Osteopathy, Physiotherapists, and Chiropractors are the first people a doctor will refer them to in scenarios such as this one? Imagine how much money paramedical practitioners could save our healthcare system if we educated the public to seek them out first. We are all trained to know when an injury necessitates a medical referral and won't hesitate to do so... so, if you injured yourself and there's no bone fracture or blood involved, check with one of the above healthcare practitioners first. Most of our clients already do!

Vagus is the Latin word for “wan - dering”, an appropriate description for a nerve that extends throughout most of the visceral system.

It is clear that our digestive health is dependent upon healthy vagal tone. How can we as massage and manual therapist contribute to our own vagal tone and help our clients to do so as well? Visceral manipulation of the organs of the digestive system stimulates the fascia environment surrounding the organs, stimulating nerve receptors within the fascia, including the vagus nerve receptors.
