Protecting Your Peace Is a Practice ✨
We live in a world that can feel incredibly heavy sometimes.
The constant news, negativity, opinions, social media, and endless noise. It’s so easy to get caught up in it all without even realizing how much of our energy it’s taking.
Over the last decade, and especially the past five or six years, I’ve become much more intentional about protecting my peace.
And let me tell you, it’s still a work in progress.
Every once in a while, I catch myself getting pulled back into the noise. Absorbing things that aren’t mine to carry. Giving my energy to situations, conversations, or worries that leave me feeling completely drained.
And that’s when I remind myself to come back to me.
To slow down. To listen to my intuition. To trust that little inner knowing that tells me when something doesn’t feel right, when I need to step away, or when I simply need some space.
Sometimes that looks like getting outside in nature. Sometimes it’s journaling, sitting quietly with my thoughts, putting my phone down, or simply allowing myself to do absolutely nothing.
Such simple things, really. But things we so easily forget to make time for.
Protecting your peace doesn’t mean you don’t care. It means recognizing that you can care deeply without carrying the weight of everything around you.
We have one life. One beautiful, messy, unpredictable life.
And while we can’t control everything happening around us, we can become more mindful of what we allow into our space, what we give our attention to, and how we choose to respond.
The more I’ve learned to listen to my intuition, the more I’ve realized that peace isn’t always about changing what’s happening around me.
Sometimes it’s about changing my relationship with it.
