Welcome to Quick Hit Yoga by Martha! I’m Martha Shea and I believe everyone deserves to feel strong and sexy in yoga, movement and life!
I’ve been practicing and teaching yoga for 18 years now. I received my first 300-hour yoga certification with The American Yoga Academy in the year 2000, and in 2001, I received my yoga certification from The Yoga and Healing Center in New Jersey with Wendy Grosse who specialized in Yoga. In 2003, I was then certified in Prenatal Yoga with Janice Clarfield at Kripalu Yoga, and finally in 2008, I completed my Yoga Ed Certification in Ontario.
For most of my life, I’ve been inspired by David Life and Sharon Gannon, the founders of Jivamukti yoga and I’ve attended several intensive training and summer camps with them. I also spent a week long intensive with Bikram Choudrey at Kripalu Yoga which made me very familiar with the magic of who he is and the yoga he has created. This year, I completed my Baron Baptiste Level 3 and I’m currently working to complete that certification as well.
I truly believe I’m a better person every time I leave my mat. The yoga mat is a vehicle for creativity, freedom and personal growth. It’s a place of pure space where I connect my blessings, center myself, my strength and my authenticity. Yoga has brought me through some very challenging times in life and it reminds me constantly that I am always stronger than I think. It also reminds me to be present in life—one breath at a time. My extreme yoga goal is to ignite this same flame in as many people as possible and then watch them shine!
