Armoa Yin - Fridays at 11:45AM - Instructor: Jennifer
Known as the quiet practice, Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Yin postures are held for three to five minutes which gives the body an opportunity to open and release tension from deeper tissues. This form of yoga is a great complement to more dynamic and active practices, and is a great aid for learning to sit in meditation. The practice works with our energy body, clearing blockages in nadis (meridians) and increasing the flow of prana or chi, improving the health of our organs as well as increasing our energy and promoting a general sense of wellbeing. Aromatherapy is used in this class.
Core Flow - Mondays at 5:30PM & Wednesdays at 9:30AM - Instructor: Mary
This class offers a strengthening yoga asana practice with a core segment that introduces participants to basic Pilates principles through integration of Pilates-style exercises. Expect to be challenged, breathe, flow, and experience how both yoga and Pilates can help you to move well and feel connected to your body.
Gentle Hatha - Wednesdays at 5:45PM with Casey, Thursdays at 9:30AM with Laura
This class is open to all levels. We will work on slowing down our movement and allowing time to truly settle into the poses while keeping our forces still strongly rooted in our breath. We will go through more passive vinyasa flows and complete our practice with in a yin style approach before coming into our final resting pose of the class.
Intro to Flow - Thursdays at 5:45PM with Casey
This class is open to all levels. Our focus is on linking our breath and movement. We will mindfully practice Sun Salutations, during which the poses will be broken down to allow us to get into our bodies and feel that we are transitioning safely through the pose. We will then work on a single advanced pose, making sure our body finds its own unique and correct alignment.
Intro to Yoga - Fridays at 1PM with Laura
This class is open to all levels. Our focus is on linking our breath and movement. We will mindfully practice Sun Salutations, during which the poses will be broken down to allow us to get into our bodies and feel that we are transitioning safely through pose. We will then work on a single advanced pose, making sure our body finds is own unique correct alinement.
Reiki & Relax - Mondays at 10:30AM with Jennifer, Saturdays at 10:45AM with Casey
This yin style class is open to all yogis. Give yourself permission to slow down and begin to relax the body and mind. The calming environment created by relaxing music, candles and incense will allow you to release and relax. During this class we will hold space for the healing energy of reiki to be let in.
Vinyasa Flow - Tuesdays at 5:45PM with Joanna, Thursdays at 4:30PM with Casey
This class is for intermediate yogis. This class will take the fundamentals learned in Intro to Yoga and will be sped up. We will work on creating heat by strengthening our muscles and flowing through vinyasa. In this class we will have time to work on inversion and backbend progression. Finally we will end the class in a meditative savasana.
Yin Yang - Mondays at 7PM with Mary, Wednesdays at 4:30PM with Casey, Saturdays at 9:30AM with Casey
This class is for intermediate yogis. During Yin, practice will be slowed down allowing our body to hold poses longer. This will work the dense connective tissues and joints. Our Yang practice will be sped up by going through more vigorous vinyasa style flows creating heat within the body. Finally we will end the class with a meditative savasana.
