URGENT MEDICAL LAB TECHNOLOGIST OPPORTUNITY IN OTTAWA - COVID TESTING PM me if interested Our client, a leader in the Clinical industry, is looking for a Certified Medical Laboratory Technologist to join their team in the Ottawa area on a contract basis. The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following duties: • The medical lab technologist will be responsible to conduct standardized/complex clinical virus culture/detection and viral molecular assays according to established protocols and approved laboratory procedures, for routine and stat diagnostic testing, outbreak and surveillance testing. • Ensure maintenance and repair of instrumentation, and all related documentation is complete. • Report and interpret results to health care providers within designated time frames, including stat/rapid response testing as assigned. Qualified candidates will possess the following skills and experience: Must Have • College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) • 2 years as a Medical Laboratory Technologist • Virology experience including virus culture, detection and molecular methods Expectations • Someone who has excellent knowledge of virus detection and molecular methods and related testing algorithms for diagnostic testing • Independently review the slides and vial pathogens • Have a knowledge of quality control / quality assurance principles and processes – there is NO room for errors at this time Salary: $30 - $40 /hr Job Type: Contract, 6 month We thank you in advance for your interest. Anyone else a mobile lab technician that has not got pandemic pay? Back on May 12th the MLPAO sent out an email saying that lab technicians that are mobile, working at long-term care homes are eligible for the pandemic pay, but the government has not followed through with this as of yet 😠
