How Hot Does it Get in a Parked Car Dr Ernie Ward

Hey everyone! It looks like we are going to have a nice little spell of warm, sunny weather again. Here's another friendly reminder to take care of your pets during hot weather and to NEVER leave them in a parked car or tethered outdoors without access to shade and water. In this video, Dr. Ernie Ward sits in a parked car for 30 minutes. The windows are cracked and the car is parked in the shade but the car still reaches 117F (47.2C). As Dr. Ward points out, he knows he can exit the car any time, so he's not in a panic, but you can imagine that a dog would probably be barking and scrambling at the windows and doors to get out, thus further increasing their body temperature. Watch the video and remember to never leave your pet in a car even if you think you'll only be a few minutes!
