There is always an element of flexibility when it comes to navigating life. It requires a certain focus but we need to be able to adapt as life happens. We can't always be certain or predict how things will turn out BUT with focus we can still maintain our goals. We just require the odd pivot now and again.

Don't dilute your energy.

If you are struggling and your current support systems just replies with that's ok. Find a new support system. People who really want to see you shine, won't help keep you down. They will tell you it's ok and to get back up. Those are the people you need in your corner.

Do a little personal audit. Do the people in your live tell you it is ok to be down. Or do they tell you it's ok to fall, as long as you get back up.

Remember, the doubt you are feeling aren't your true impressions. They are thoughts or insecurities passed on to us.

When we were born, we were born fearless and full of hope. Somewhere, doubt was passed on from a parent, peer or role model in our lives. We may not even remember the first time we felt doubt but know we aren't born with it.

Why I don’t tell people what to eat...

It’s common practice in fitness to have coaches throw out meal plans. Eat this meal A for breakfast, this meal B for lunch and this for C dinner. If you get hunger have D & E for snacks. I use to coach this way but after many years of experience and hundreds of women. I have learned some key things when it came to nutrition.

1. It has a lot less to do with what you eat than you think.
2. Allergies aren’t the problem.
3. Picky eating isn’t an issue.
4. Traditions/culture should never be missed.
5. Food had more than one propose in our life. Eat to live and live to eat are both important.

Meal plans are only focused on one thing. A result. A result with no consideration to the dieter. What their schedules are like, lifestyle, stress levels, emotional needs and values. Strict meal plans imply that your results can only happen once earn. That your results are more important than any individual need. Really stealing the joy out of the process, which is why most people quit or succeed to fall back in the same position they begun. They didn’t actually enjoy or feel in alignment with the “structured” meal plan because that’s not the actual way they want to live.

I believe nutrition and your relationship with food is more of a practice. It takes skill and time to develop. It takes a willingness to explore your habits. What do they mean to you. How are they impacting your life.

In the end the principle to fat loss or changing your body composition is reaaaaaally simple. Yet, why do so many struggle with this type of goals? Because being handed a meal plan, is like a distraction. Sure, it can give you what you want for the time being or even awhile. I still help clients build plans. However, if you don’t take time to learn how to eat, learn your hunger cues, really understand why you eat. It’s only a matter of time before you’ll feel trap and lost with our the restraints of a meal plan and where is the freedom in that? I would rather teach clients the needed skills, unleash their confidence when it comes to food, so there can be a trust and enjoyment in their process. To see results but forever keep them.

Well this just lights my heart up.

I stepped into fitness to help women. To help them regain confidence. To help them find balance in their lives. To help them spend more time enjoying life versus stressing about food. To help them find peace each and every day for themselves. To help them see, that self care is for EVERYONE.

That time for fitness does not need to be earned. Take it if it matters. It is not selfish, it does require compromise. Teaching them to speak their needs into existence and work on keeping them accountable to that. Taking care of yourself is a priority to show up for life the way you want.

Challenges can be tough, they are intended to throw a bunch at us. Not to overwhelm us to fail but to see what sticks. It is like cleaning up a leak. It doesn't matter what mop you use to get the mess clean. The challenge to clean it is simply presented to us. In which pace we clean it up is up to us.

Same goes with this 16 week challenge. Maybe you started fast and furious and now you have slowed down. Maybe you are just gaining your momentum. As long as you are "cleaning" you are going to make progress on the mess. Clean at your own pace. Stay on top of those leaks.

Did you know that often people who struggle with their food, also struggle with money. Often this is because of the mindset of sacricity. I like to put my mindset in the state of abundance. This means when I sit down to eat, I always tell myself there will be more of this food again. I also do the same with money. If I need to invest in something, I remind myself there is always more money to be made or to come.

When we shift to a more abundance mindset, we lose the anxiety that will NEVER get to eat those cookies again. We can find peace in eating what we feel like, knowing someday soon you can enjoy them all over again.

This what this season is about confidence.

It’s summer, it’s hot.

I have had anxieties once about wearing less during the hot months. Shorts, tank tops, bathing suits!! It used to cause me a lot of stress. It is a big stress for a lot of the women I work with too.

First step is learning to accept and love your body. Everyone has a “bikini body” You have a body, wear the bikini. It does not need to be earned. The only thing worth earning is enough self love that you stop worrying day in and day out about your body.

Ways you can improve the way you feel about yourself:

1. Get enough rest.
2. Move your body daily.
3. Nourish yourself.

To receive messages like this from clients who are finding space to enjoy the things in life that matter. Like swimming with their kids and feeling great about the moment and how they feel in it. That’s what this work is all about.
