Hi friends.

I have a last minute invitation to join me on a weekend women's wellness retreat at Harmony Dawn in Hastings, ON Friday, July 16th to Sunday, July 18th!

Space is limited to 10 participants to ensure all health and safety protocols can be maintained and I have only 4 spots left.

This weekend has been carefully curated to offer you time and space to connect with other amazing women, to move, to breathe, and to rest.

You will find instant tranquility on the grounds of the Harmony Dawn Retreat Centre where the gracious Nicola will cook you the most amazing, delicious vegetarian meals you can imagine.

Daily yoga and group activities are woven through the day with plenty of free time to relax and unwind. Take a walk in the labyrinth, read a book, walk in the surrounding woods, swim a beautiful Rice Lake.

What does it mean to be well?

Are we ever really well? Are we ever 100% healthy? Is it healthy to be well of body but weighed down by mental stress, worry and anxiety?

Is it well to be sound of body and mind but feel no spiritual connection?

I personally believe we are all always a work in progress. Sometimes these parts or ourselves fall into balance but more often than not, we are teetering just slightly off balance. Sometimes that's ok and sometimes we need help.

What does being well mean to you? Asking for a friend (OK, I'm asking for me).

Who says you shouldn't throw balls in the house?

The saying goes, "We don't stop playing because we get old. We get old because we stop playing".

Playing with balls and practicing some eye hand co-ordination. Little known fact...I'm practically legally blind so hand eye co-ordination doesn't come easily to me.

Try pulling your therapy ball out of your glutes πŸ‘ and have some fun with it. Challenge your balance, challenge your wrists and keep your eye πŸ‘ on the ball ⚾️. There's no wrong way to play. Have fun!

Mobility Monday - wrist warm up

#mobilitymonday As a manual therapy practitioner, it's super important for me to take good care of my wrists. And you better believe I'm gonna warm these babies up before even a single downdog or plank pose.

Here's a quick warm up you can try to show your wrists a little love 🧑 🎯 Take your hands for a walk to test how much natural mobility and range you have. No need to force anything - just see what you've got 🎯 Finger taps - try and tap each finger individually on your mat - it's harder than you think 🎯 Wrist lifts - keep your spine neutral and arms straight as you plug your fingers firmly into the ground and try to lift the heels of your hands away from the ground - you might need to just imagine it...there isn't usually a ton of room there and that's OK 🎯 Wrist and inner forearm stretch - with your fingers pointing toward your legs, slowly shift your hips toward your feet - make sure you don't move into any pain. There may not be alot available. Play with what you do have 🎯 Push ups - with your palms facing up and fingers in yoward the midline, bend your elbows and lower your chest to the mat

Most important - have fun with it and be curious about your movement.

Home workouts with the kids has been a game changer this week. I'm happy the studio space is being used for something besides my online classes where it's just me.

Today we did a Tabata workout yesterday was a body weight/light weight and resistance circuit.

Are you doing anything to stay active? It's ok if you're not. It took me a month to navigate through all my emotions and get to this point.
