Happy Monday! 💗

Here’s a little real-life reminder that the woman behind Of Salt & Spirit is also a woman with a full-time job, three kids, a busy calendar and a never-ending list of things that need doing. 😂

I talk a lot about slowing down, making time for yourself and reconnecting with what matters, but that doesn’t mean I’ve got it all figured out myself.

Some weeks I’m great at making time for the things I love. Other weeks I’m just trying to remember what day it is!

And maybe that’s why this work means so much to me. I know how easy it is to get caught up in looking after everyone and everything else.

So here’s to finding little moments for ourselves in the middle of our very real, very busy lives.

How’s your Monday treating you?

For this week’s Sunday Reset, I want to flip things around a little. We’ve been talking about letting go of things this month, but what about the things we actually want to keep?

The people who make us laugh, the things we love doing, the little moments that make us happy.

I know I’m guilty of spending way too much time thinking about everything I need to get done instead of appreciating what’s already good in my life. 😂

So this week, instead of focusing on what needs to go, I’m thinking about what I’d like more of.

More laughter, more time with people I love, and maybe a few moments where I’m not mentally running through the next 47 things on my list!

What would you love to have more of in your life?

Sometimes you have to be your own sunshine. ☀️

Not every day is going to feel bright, and we can’t always wait for someone else to bring the light.

Sometimes it’s about finding little ways to bring some of that joy, warmth and happiness into our own lives.

Even when we’re standing in the shadows. 💛

Just a couple of girls living our best pickle lives.

Because apparently a giant pickle is a perfectly reasonable reason to stop for a photo at Picklefest! And hey - we are celebrating cause we are a big dill! It can’t always be crystals and unicorns over here! 🤭

I’ve been thinking lately about how much of our time and energy gets taken up by things that probably don’t need nearly as much of either.

Someone else’s problem. Something that didn’t go the way we planned. An expectation we’ve put on ourselves. That one thing we keep replaying in our heads even though there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it.

And if you’re anything like me, you can spend an impressive amount of time thinking about something that probably deserves about five minutes of your attention. 😂

But here’s something I’m learning - Not everything needs to be fixed. Not every situation needs my involvement. And not every thought that pops into my head deserves a permanent place there.

Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is decide where our energy is actually worth spending.

Because when we’re giving our attention to absolutely everything, there’s not much left for the people, experiences and things that really matter to us.

So maybe this weekend, it’s worth asking yourself: Does this actually need my attention, or am I just used to giving it?

I had a Reiki session recently that reminded me exactly why I started doing this work in the first place. 💙

Sometimes I get so caught up in everything that goes into running Of Salt & Spirit, creating content, figuring out what to offer, trying to get my name out there, that I forget about the part I actually love the most.

The connection with people.

Being trusted to hold space for someone, listening to what they’re going through and being able to offer them a little time that’s entirely about them.

I don’t take that lightly.

I went into this particular session hoping I could offer someone a little peace and comfort, and I came away feeling incredibly grateful that I get to do this work.

It’s easy to get caught up in the business side of things, especially when you’re trying to grow something of your own. But moments like this remind me that behind every booking is a real person with their own story.

And that’s the part that matters most to me.

I asked ChatGPT to show me four different versions of myself… and wow. Some of this hit a little deeper than I expected. 🥹✨

❤️ Who I think I am
❤️ Who strangers think I am
❤️ Who the people closest to me probably see
❤️ The real me, hidden underneath it all

It’s interesting how differently we see ourselves compared to how others might see us. And sometimes, the version we’re hardest on is the one who deserves the most kindness.

Want to try it yourself? (don’t forget to share yours in the comments!)

Copy this prompt into ChatGPT:

“Based on everything you know about me from our conversations, describe four versions of me: who I think I am, who strangers probably think I am, who the people closest to me probably see, and the real me hidden inside that no one knows about. Be thoughtful, personal, and honest.”

Then upload a selfie and ask:

“Now create a four-panel collage showing me as each of these four versions, with handwritten descriptions of each one.”

I’d love to see yours! Share your results or tell me which version surprised you the most. 💕

I don’t know who decided that a Sunday Reset meant getting absolutely everything done before Monday, but I’d like to have a word with them. 😂 Especially on a long weekend!

Between hockey, family plans, Thanksgiving preparations and all the usual stuff, the list never seems to end. Groceries, laundry, meals, schedules, remembering what everyone needs and making sure nothing gets forgotten. And somehow, so much of it lives in our heads.

I love taking care of my family and bringing people together, but that doesn’t mean I don’t get tired of being the one who has to think about everything. I think a lot of women can relate to that.

So maybe this week’s Sunday Reset isn’t about getting more done. Maybe it’s about looking at that never-ending list and asking ourselves what actually needs to happen, what someone else could handle and what would happen if we just left a few things undone.

I’m not suggesting we abandon our responsibilities and let everyone fend for themselves. Although some days that’s pretty tempting. 😂 But I do think we get so used to carrying everything that we forget we don’t always have to.

We’ve been talking about things falling away this October, and maybe one of those things is the expectation that we have to be the ones holding it all together.

So this Thanksgiving weekend, I hope you get to actually enjoy some of the things you’ve worked so hard to make happen. And if the laundry doesn’t get folded or something gets crossed off the list without being done, I think we’ll all survive.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend! 🤎

Your story deserves to be heard. 🤍

For World Mental Health Day on October 10, I’m reflecting on the theme: “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change.”

There’s something powerful about hearing someone describe an experience you thought only you were having. That moment of “Me too” can help us feel less alone—and remind us that our struggles deserve understanding.

Sharing my own journey has shown me how honest conversations can open doors. They give us opportunities to question assumptions, understand each other and talk about what support actually helps.

But listening matters just as much as sharing. Making room for someone’s experience means believing them, getting curious and letting them tell their story in their own words.

Real change starts when those voices help shape the conversations, decisions and care that affect them.

You get to choose when and how you share. Your experience matters—even if you’re not ready to put it into words. 🤍

Can we talk about how sometimes you can know absolutely nothing about a crystal, have no idea what it’s traditionally associated with, and still decide you need it because it’s just really freaking pretty? 😂

I think sometimes we make crystals way more complicated than they need to be. There are so many different meanings, properties, ways to cleanse them, ways to work with them, and opinions about what we’re supposed to do with them that it can feel a little overwhelming, especially if you’re just getting started.

And don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love learning about crystals and their traditional energetic associations. But I also think there’s something to be said for simply trusting what you’re drawn to. Maybe it’s the colour, the shape, the way it catches the light, or maybe you can’t explain it at all. That’s okay too.

One of my favourite things about having crystals at the Red Shed market last weekend was watching people choose them. Some knew exactly what they wanted, and others just picked something up because it caught their eye. I love that there’s room for both.

So let’s have a little Friday fun. You’re allowed to take ONE crystal home from this picture. Which one are you grabbing first? And yes, I know choosing just one is cruel. 😂
