When I was a kid I always wanted to pursue courses and education about human movement. I am grateful that I can continue to pursue this as I get older.

Functional Range Assesment was the key that fit everything together.

Here's to finding your passion and rolling with it!

Have you had your Range of Motion assessed before?

Here is a glimpse of how Krista treats and assesses shoulder range of motion.

If there is a discomfort in a certain area she will asses the clients ROM (range of motion) .

Here she focuses on shoulder ROM.

Krista uses a combination of massage therapy techniques along with guiding the client how to move through the shoulders, and how to maintain that ROM.

In this example we are moving the shoulder joint in controlled articular rotations- isolating the joint capsule where all the magic happens!

Then we are further challenging the joint at it's end range with end range rotations!

#MovementMonday

Are you having stiffness in certain parts of your back?

Today Krista teaches us how it can be helpful to use an eraser or a small object to help feel that part of the spine that isn't moving properly.

By lying on that segment we can feel where it is on the spine and sinking into it, then moving from there.

Place the eraser/small object where you're a little stiff. Once we know where we aren't moving as well as we could, we can start adding more movements to help develop that mobility and thoracic range of motion!

Use your environment to exercise. Using your environment creates play and challenges your movement!

HIP MOBILITY 🔥

If you're not already working on your hip's range of motion and mobility you should start today!

Improving your hip mobility will not only increase athletic performance, but can also help prevent lower back pain/injury and boost other exercises like the deadlift and squat!

Here are three movements you can do today that will start developing that Hip Mobility.

Your hips might feel very tight and stiff doing these, but work on it every day and they'll start to loosen up!

If you're looking to develop more mobility and flexibility, come try a Kinstretch class! They are every Thursday and Saturday!

Call the clinic to reserve your spot! (613) 507-5282

Thursday night Kinstretch® class!
Working through shoulder controlled articular rotations - internal and external rotation.

Learn to isolate movements before adding more complex movements.

One of the many reasons why I love teaching this class :

1) you feel good after, this is what the body needs for health and recovery
2) you learn about your movements, learning about deeper structures involved in movement
3) seeing awesome results!

Thursday nights 715pm and Saturdays at 9am : get your body moving!

#MovementMonday 🏃‍♀️

Here is a fun little warm up to do before a run, a workout, or anything physical!

Playing around with movement is fun, stimulating, and teaches you how you are moving.

Doing the same workouts often or sitting in the same position all the time will create unevenness and your body will adapt to those positions!

Do you find you have a hard time balancing? Are you feeling more mobile on one side of the body vs the other? What feels natural to you and what doesn't?

Try it out and see where you may be experiencing some imbalances!
