The team, led by Dr. Genevieve Digby and Dr. Christopher Parker, put forward a proposal to expand the model of the existing Lung Diagnostic Assessment Program (LDAP) clinics currently operating out of Hotel Dieu Hospital site to the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital (LACGH) in Napanee.
At the LDAP clinic, patients who have a suspected diagnosis of lung cancer are able to meet with a team of specialists sooner to shorten the time between referral, diagnosis, and ultimately, treatment.

We are less than a week away from the 6th annual Pap Party! There are still spots in Kingston and Tyendinaga for anyone with a cervix but without a family doctor to be screened for cervical cancer.
Call Taryn at 613-549-6666 ext. 6071 or [email protected] to book your appointment.
To recognize October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Shelley Macdonald and her colleagues at the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) have put together an incentive in hopes of encouraging women in need of a mammogram to book their appointments right away.
Anyone who calls during the month of October to book their next mammogram will have their name entered in a draw for the prize pack, which includes gift cards, jewelry, toiletries, comfort items and more.
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Regular screening is important because it can find cancer early when treatment has a better chance of working.
If you are a woman between 50 and 74 years of age, you do not need a referral to make your appointment. Contact the Kingston OBSP site at 613-384-4284 to book your appointment.

Today marks the 30 year anniversary of the first Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) mammogram.
Since the program began, more than 9.1 million mammograms were performed on 2.2 million women ages 50 to 74, and more than 48,000 breast cancers were diagnosed. Over the past 30 years, there has been a significant decrease in the breast cancer mortality rate in Ontario women due to improved treatments and increased participation in breast screening.
Thank you all of our partners and their staff for contributing to the growth of the program and impacting the lives of millions of women across the entire province.
If you have extra fabric masks, or are able to sew some, please consider donating them to the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario.
