“Anxiety, heartbreak, and tenderness mark the in-between state. It’s the kind of place we usually want to avoid. The challenge is to stay in the middle rather than buy into struggle and complaint. The challenge is to let it soften us rather than make us more rigid and afraid. Becoming intimate with the queasy feeling of being in the middle of nowhere only makes our hearts more tender. When we are brave enough to stay in the middle, compassion arises spontaneously. By not knowing, not hoping to know, and not acting like we know what’s happening, we begin to access our inner strength.” ~ When Things Fall Apart by Pema Chödrön

I shared this passage in last week’s yoga practice, and it continues to ring true for me + so many people that surround me.

Last Sunday would have been Back to the Farm, and our 3rd Annual Beer Yoga to kickstart the festival.
We celebrated regardless, with an amazing turn out for Sunday Morning Yoga, followed by social distance pints and epic food.

My love for essential oils runs deep.

If you’ve ever had any type of emotion around me, chances are I’ve pulled an essential oil or two (or three) out of my Mary Poppins bag and told you how the oil could support you in that moment.

Since I’m missing you all so much, I’ve decided to combine a few of my favourite oils so you can take them anywhere you need!

Distancing has me feeling all the feels. Some days I feel motivated, other days not so much. Regardless of where I’m at, I’ve found that rolling out of bed and onto a yoga mat has been a helpful feedback tool. Prioritizing the mind + body connection first thing. Creating an intention for the day. Following intuitive movement, whether that means sitting in child’s pose for 20 minutes or finding more dynamic movement, provides you with some feedback about where you’re at. It sets the stage for the rest of the day and let you flow through the waves of uncertainty with greater self compassion and ease.

I’m going to be filming some super chill wake up classes. Hoping to inspire you to wake + move first thing when you roll out of bed (whenever that may be).

Did you know?

The subconscious mind comprises our habits, beliefs, emotions, preferences, conditioning and imagination. It is programmed through words, and repetition; and, it is responsible for 95% of our decisions and behaviour🤯

Our subconscious mind (unlike the conscious mind) is illogical (it doesn’t understand past/future) and literal (it doesn’t understand nuance/sarcasm/metaphor) as it works to interpret the present moment and our nervous system accordingly

Quantum Languaging tells us that every word matters, as language is our primary means of sculpting our reality

To expand beyond any limitations you may be experiencing in mind/body/spirit, here are a few amazing hacks in expansive communication to tap into your subconscious and shape your world for the (even more) wonderful:

Have you heard of the 5 love languages?

Mine is personal touch - a limited resource during this time.

Until the days that I can wrap my arms around you in a big hug, try this:

Sit tall in a supportive shape - get cozy. Put one hand on your belly, the other to your heart. Press ever so gently into your fingertips. Bring your attention to your physical body - the feeling of touch, the warmth of your palms. And then go beyond - the rhythm of your heart, the movement your breath creates, the depth of your breath.

Its simplicity does not make it easy - but keep going.

I’ve been pretty quiet the last little while. A gathering of energy in the midst of personal change months in the making.

This isolation has felt like Mother Nature’s way of giving (some of) us a time out.

I’ve been hanging with my nephews, taking a ton of nature walks, doing yoga, and of course enjoying this amazing tub.

My heart goes out to all of you who may be immune compromised, parents left without childcare for their littles, friends in the public health sector, and creative folx left without work. Should you need anything, I am here for you as I work to ground myself.
