Snack or Shake Idea: Powerhouse Protein Smoothie Bowls

My latest obsession is smoothie bowls!

A great change-up from your daily shake routine, you can make them with any IsaLean Shake prepared with 1/2 cup cold water and 1/4 cup ice. Top them with small portions of chopped nuts, fresh fruits, h**p hearts... whatever healthy boosters work into your plan!

Here are a few of my favourites:

Apple Cinnamon Smoothie Bowl:

2 scoops Vanilla Chai IsaLean Shake (or Creamy French Vanilla)
1/2 cup cold purified water
1/4 cup ice, topped with:
1/4 cup fresh raspberries
1/4 cup chopped apple
1 tsp slice almonds, toasted
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

Chocolate Smoothie Bowl:

2 scoops any chocolate IsaLean Shake
1/2 cup cold purified water
1/4 cup ice, topped with:
2 sliced strawberries
1 teaspoon sliced almonds,
1 tablespoon toasted unsweetened coconut

Strawberry Smoothie Bowl:

2 scoops any strawberry IsaLean Shake,
1/2 cup cold purified water
1/4 cup ice, topped with:
1 teaspoon cacao nibs
8 blueberries
1 teaspoon rolled oats

A few fresh mint leaves

Directions

CAPRESE ZOODLES

INGREDIENTS
4 large zucchini
2 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
2 c. cherry tomatoes, halved
1 c. mozzarella balls, quartered if large
1/4 c. fresh basil leaves
2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar

DIRECTIONS
Using a spiralizer, create zoodles out of zucchini.
Add zoodles to a large bowl, toss with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Let marinate 15 minutes.

Add tomatoes, mozzarella and basil to zoodles and toss until combined.

Drizzle with balsamic and serve.

PERUVIAN CHICKEN & AVOCADO, TOMATO CUCUMBER SALAD

INGREDIENTS
1 ½ –2 pounds chicken (thigh or breast, boneless, skinless- see notes) Or substitute portobellos!

👉Marinade:
4 garlic cloves- finely minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons lime juice
2 teaspoons honey, agave or sugar
1 tablespoon cumin
2 teaspoons paprika or smoked paprika
1 teaspoon coriander
1 teaspoon dried oregano ( or 1 tablespoon fresh) or sub thyme or marjoram
1 ½ teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon soy sauce ( optional)

👉Peruvian Green Sauce (Aji Verde) :
½ cup sour cream or mayo (see notes for vegan option)
½ jalapeño (use less for less spicy)
1 garlic clove
1 cup chopped cilantro- thin stems ok.
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
a squeeze of lime ( 1 tablespoon, save other half for salad)

👉Avocado Cucumber Tomato Salad
2 cups diced or sliced English or Turkish cucumber
1 large perfectly ripe avocado, diced
handful cherry tomatoes ( yellow and red are nice )
cilantro leaves for garnishing
olive oil for drizzling
generous, 5 finger pinch kosher salt
squeeze of lime

INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat grill to medium-high.

If making rice, start this now on the stove.

Make the marinade in a small bowl. Using a garlic press, finely mince the garlic and place it in the bowl. Add oil, lime juice, honey, cumin, paprika, coriander, oregano and salt and optional soy sauce. Stir. Toss it with the chicken in a bowl, coating all sides well, and/ or brush it onto the portobellos. Marinate while the grill heats up or overnight for more flavor. (The portobellos will soak up the marinade so if marinating overnight go lightly, reapply before grilling.)

Make Peruvian Green Sauce by placing all the ingredients in a blender and blending until relatively smooth, scraping down the sides if necessary.

When the grill is hot, grill the chicken and/ or portobellos, searing both sides well ( using a metal spatula to flip) then turn the heat down or move to a cooler side of the grill to allow the chicken to cook through. Portobellos will cook faster, so plate and cover with foil to keep warm.

Make the salad by placing the diced cucumber in a wide shallow bowl. Add avocado, spacing it out evenly. Add a few cherry tomato halves. Sprinkle generously with salt and pepper and drizzle lightly with olive oil. Squeeze with lime juice. Garnish with cilantro leaves.

Serve with the Cilantro Lime Rice. If making bowls, place ¾ cup rice on the bottom of the bowl, add sliced chicken or portobellos to one side, avocado salad on the other side and drizzle with the cilantro sauce. Enjoy!

Shake Idea: Strawberry Shortcake Shake

This extra-creamy, frothy adaptation of our classic shake can be made with almond milk and vanilla or strawberry shake powder, in any combination. It can also be split into two servings if you want to enjoy it garnished with coconut whip, chopped nuts, or drizzled with chocolate syrup for a protein-packed treat.

Ingredients:
4-6 oz cold filtered water (to desired consistency)
4 oz unsweetened almond milk
3/4 cup unsweetened frozen strawberries
ice cubes (optional)
1 scoop Whole Blend Strawberry Cream shake
1 scoop Whole Blend Birthday Cake OR French Vanilla shake
dollop of coconut whip (garnish, optional)
sliced strawberries (garnish, optional)
1 tbsp sliced almonds (garnish, optional)

Directions:
Add the water, almond beverage, ice, shake powders, and frozen strawberries to your blender cup or pitcher, in that order. Blend to desired consistency. Pour into your serving glass and garnish with coconut whip and sliced strawberries and almonds, if desired. Enjoy!

🍪1 tsp vanilla
🍪1 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees & bake for 15-20 minutes.

• 4 scoops Chocolate protein powder
