Sacred Reconnection Wellness Services Wellness professional with 15 yrs of experience, blending Indigenous teachings and Western practices.

Offering holistic wellness services including psychotherapy, consultation, and classes like, Natural Rhythms to help you reconnect to all your relations. I’ve spent the last 15 years in the wellness industry, and I created this business to align more closely with my personal values and the services I offer. As a woman with mixed ancestry, I’m deeply passionate about weaving a “two-eyed seeing” approach into all of my work—this means blending Indigenous teachings with the best of Western practices to create a holistic experience for everyone I work with. One of the ways I do this is through my Natural Rhythms class, a unique offering that combines mindful, rhythmic movement to help participants release limiting beliefs, reconnect with their true selves, their roots, and the world around them. As a Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (Supervisor Qualifying), I offer therapy services for individuals, couples, and families, as well as supervision/consultation for other helping professionals, particularly those interested in trauma-informed care with Indigenous communities. I’m passionate about teaching decolonization through exploring worldview differences and the challenges that arise from them. Coming soon, I’ll be offering holistic, trauma-informed retreats that provide a safe, healing, space for people to disconnect in natural settings and reconnect with themselves and "all their relations" in a deeper, more meaningful way. When I’m not working, I’m a proud mom to two amazing children, who continue to inspire me. I share a home in a beautiful mountain town with my partner. We love spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and going on adventures together, which often means living out of our camper for long periods at a time! We love disconnecting from the busyness of life and losing ourselves in nature!

Land Based Couples Intensive Therapy: Reconnection Beyond Traditional Therapy

November 1st brought an unexpected gift here in Northeastern Ontario—sunshine, 15°C temperatures, and a beautiful opportunity to facilitate my first land-based couples intensive.

What a meaningful way to close out the land-based therapy season!

I've often referred to nature as my co-therapist. Not simply because of the peaceful surroundings, but because of the ways the land invites us to slow down, become present, and connect differently with ourselves and one another.

🌿 Creating space to listen.

During an intensive, we begin and end our time together using a sharing circle format, honouring the importance of listening to learn and understand, rather than simply listening to respond.

Intentional listening creates space for curiosity, understanding, and deeper emotional intimacy.

🌿 Creating space to reconnect.

Unlike traditional therapy sessions, an intensive offers an extended period of time to step away from everyday responsibilities and distractions.

Time to reflect, engage in meaningful conversations, share experiences, and simply be together without the usual pressures of daily life.

🌿 Inviting nature into the therapeutic relationship.

The land offers its own opportunities for learning. Through stillness, movement, changing perspectives, and connection with the natural world, we are reminded that relationships, like nature, move through seasons of growth, change, challenge, and renewal.

From a relational and Two-Eyed Seeing perspective, healing doesn't happen in isolation. Our relationships with ourselves, one another, and the natural world are deeply interconnected.

This is the heart of land-based therapy at Sacred Reconnections.

As the seasons shift, I'll be putting these outdoor offerings to rest for the winter, with plans to welcome them back in the spring.

For now, I'm feeling grateful for this beautiful beginning and the opportunity to continue bringing my vision of relational, land-based healing to life.

**The Many Faces of Grief: Remembering & Honouring**

As November begins, I've been reflecting on the many ways we experience grief, remember those we've lost, and honour the connections that continue to shape us.

One tradition that has always resonated with me is Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead), a Mexican celebration rooted in Indigenous and Catholic traditions. While it is not part of my own cultural heritage, I've long appreciated the way this celebration makes space not only for remembering those who have passed, but for celebrating their lives and the connections that remain.

It invites me to reflect on something I wish we talked about more: **What if grief wasn't something we needed to move past, but something we could learn to make space for?**

Throughout November, I'll be exploring the many faces of grief — from remembering loved ones and honouring those who came before us, to the less visible losses we experience through changing relationships, identities, and seasons.

Because grief is not always about death. And remembrance is not always about sadness.

Sometimes it is about gratitude, laughter, stories, traditions, and the many ways love continues to find expression.

**What are some of the ways you honour or remember those who have shaped your life?**

****From Where I Stand: There is Wisdom in Play***
I love Halloween. Not necessarily because of the candy or the costumes...although those are pretty great.

I love the invitation to play. To temporarily become something different; an animal, character, creature, someone from another world.

Across cultures, humans have long used movement, dance, masks, storytelling and other forms of play and ceremony to explore or honour relationships with other beings. We move like animals. We embody elements. We tell stories. We imagine ourselves into different ways of being.

There is something powerful and mysterious about that.

What can we learn when we allow ourselves to play with who we might be?

Maybe we discover a part of ourselves that doesn't usually get much room. Maybe we find courage. Maybe we find silliness. Maybe we find curiosity. Maybe, just maybe...we simply remember that we don't have to take ourselves so seriously all the time. (That is a gift all on its own!)

To play with identity, we also need to know something about our own.

There is a difference between exploring another being through relationship, imagination and play — and claiming an identity that isn't ours.

For me, knowing who I am doesn't mean I have to remain fixed. It means I have a place to return to. A center. A relationship with myself, my family, my community, my ancestors, my land and the beings around me.

From that place of knowing, I can play, wonder, and imagine. I can try on another way of moving through the world, and then come home to myself.
Perhaps that's part of what play gives us - freedom to explore
without losing ourselves.

So, this Halloween, I hope you give yourself permission to get a little silly. Try something on. Move differently. Pretend. Play. Wonder.

And then remember - You were made exactly as you are for a reason!

A gentle reminder to pause, look up, and reconnect with the natural rhythms and cycles we are all part of.

I had a lovely visit from this winged one today as I worked on the land. Not sure how many times it flew around us, but enough that we really got to admire its beauty. What a gift on this beautiful fall day!

A little Saturday morning humour… 😅🌲

The woods might not fix everything, but there's something about spending time among the trees that helps put things into perspective. Sometimes, a little space from the noise of everyday life is exactly what we need.

And speaking of reconnecting with the land… we woke up to our first glistening of snow on the property this week. ❄️🥶😬😜

While I am reluctantly moving through this change, I can't help but admit there is something special about witnessing the land shift through the seasons, reminding us that change is a natural part of life, too.

Grateful for these little moments of connection. 💚

An invitation into gratitude practices.

Gratitude has long been known as an antidote to warding off negativity by releasing feel good chemicals (serotonin and dopamine). This can improve our moods and increase happiness...which can be incredibly important this time of year as the sunlight starts to decrease.

Okay, so… the feisty part of me thinks... "what an incredible response of people coming together to respond to such a hateful and unnecessary act, especially at such a deeply disrespectful time".

Denialism about residential schools, right before the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, is deeply troubling. September 30 is a day to honour Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and acknowledge the ongoing impacts of the residential school system.

And then there’s another part of me that is simply deeply hurt...

Hurt that there is still so much hatred and division in our world.

Seriously… where does this come from?

What systems create and reinforce this division?
What systems benefit when we turn against one another?

Because I don't believe ordinary people are served by a world that teaches us to fear, hate and dehumanize one another.

And then there is the dreamer in me...

The part of me that wonders what might happen if we moved a little closer to **wonder and curiosity about one another.**

I often think about Valarie Kaur’s teachings in "See No Stranger" and her story of choosing to wonder about someone who had caused profound harm to her community. Not because the harm didn't matter. Not because accountability wasn't necessary. But because she began to ask: *Who have we not yet tried to love? What has happened to this other to be able to cause this harm? What would it take to interrupt this cycle?*

For me, that is not about excusing harm.

It is about refusing to let hatred become the thing that defines our response to hatred.

A wise Elder once told me:

**“Soldiers choose sides. Warriors take a stand.”**

I think about those words a lot.

Because when we get caught in choosing sides, in polarization and in the "us versus them" mentality, we can lose sight of the deeper work: dismantling the illusion that we are separate from one another.

So perhaps the question isn't simply, *Which side are you on?*

Perhaps the question is:

**What are you willing to stand for?**

Truth.
Justice.
Dignity.
Accountability.
Relationship.
Healing.
The protection of our children.
A future where hatred doesn't get handed down as an inheritance.

What might it look like to move into *warrior mode*?

To take a stand against racism and denialism **without becoming consumed by hatred ourselves.**

To hold firm boundaries while remaining curious.

To tell the truth while staying connected to our humanity.

To choose actions that move us toward relationship, understanding and healing.

As we move into Truth and Reconciliation Day 2026, what steps can we take today to move toward oneness — so that our future generations don't have to inherit this fear and hatred?
