He rose out of nowhere.

Massive, uninvited, unrelenting, like the sea itself was angry. I held on with everything I had for forty-five straight minutes of pure chaos, no control, no plan, just instinct.

I didn’t catch this fish. This fish caught me, and it’s a story I’ll be telling for the rest of my life, one that no body that wasn’t there will ever believe.
