You're allowed to change your mind.

What once felt right, may not fit anymore. What you once needed may have changed.

You don't owe the world an explanation for every step you take toward what feels right for you.

You're allowed to grow. You're allowed to choose differently.

And you're allowed to begin again. That doesn't mean failure. It means you're listening to yourself.

A few years ago, I was insecure, shy, introverted, overwhelmed. All the things that made me shrink into myself. I used to stare at the ground everywhere I went.

Unknowingly I was sending a closed-off signal, and that uneasy isolated feeling kept following me anytime I was out in public.

I made the choice to make one small intentional change. Smile.

Now I can comfortably smile at strangers without darting my eyes away. It lets them feel seen, and I feel that warm, friendly energy returned to me everywhere I go.

It feels awkward at first! But don't give up. The more you help people feel seen, the more positive energy you'll feel come back.

Try it next time you're out. You'll be surprised how many people smile back!

Perfection is impossible. Peace isn't.

No one has the perfect day, the perfect body, or the perfect way of caring.

When you're ill or looking after someone who is, "perfect" is a weight you were never meant to carry.

Good enough is allowed. A rest day is allowed. An imperfect, messy, honest day still counts.

Just for today, let "I did my best" be the whole goal.
Where can you let go of perfect today?

Sick kids don't stop being kids.

I know because I was one.

In the middle of treatment, what I craved wasn't pity or perfect words. It was normal: friends, crafts, games, a finger puppets, and my stuffed animals beside me.

If you're caring for a child who is ill, small moments of play and choice matter more than you might think.

Cottage Visitors

I've started to take these visits as a reminder: slow down, be still, notice who's sitting beside you.

2026 has been dedicated to slowing down.

The things that find you in stillness can't find you in a hurry.

The mantis on my knee didn't arrive when I was busy. It came when I finally sat still. When we slow down, there's always something to appreciate: the warmth of the fire, a visitor on your knee, a quiet breath.

Try this: pick one small task and do it at half speed. Feel the warmth of the cup, the weight of your feet, the pace of your breath. The warm breeze on your face.

There's peace in stillness.

I have an amazing life, because it doesn't matter what happens.

That's the motto I try to live by. Even the unfavorable things are here to teach me something.

This year put it to the test. I was diagnosed with cancer for the second time in my life. It wasn't the news I wanted, but it gave me the chance to practice what I believe. And boy, did I learn.

I slowed down. I took time for myself and listened to my body. I practiced reiki every day. And I appreciated the smallest things: comfy pajamas, sunshine coming through my bedroom window. Fur babies and most of all, Family.

My life isn't amazing because everything goes right. It's amazing because I get to choose what everything means.

What's a hard thing that taught you something?

I have an amazing life, because it doesn't matter what happens.

That's the motto I try to live by. Even the unfavorable things are here to teach me something. And I'm really good at going with the flow now.

This year put it to the test. I was diagnosed with cancer for the second time in my life. It wasn't the news I wanted, but it gave me the chance to practice what I believe. And boy, did I learn.

I slowed down. I took time for myself and listened to my body. Let my family take really good care of me. I practiced reiki every day. And I appreciated the smallest things: comfy pajamas. Sunshine coming through my bedroom window. Laughter from my wonderful husband and 3 amazing children. Dog cuddles. Warm cozy socks. This list could go on and on.

My life isn't amazing because everything goes right. It's amazing because I get to choose what everything means.

What's a hard thing that taught you something?

Rest says, "I'll be back."
Isolation says, "No one would understand."

If you're ill, you deserve quiet days and closed doors. Just don't let the quiet turn into disappearing.

One text, one voice message, one person is enough to keep the door open.

Swipe through, and save this for a day when you need the reminder. đź’›

When energy flows with minimal resistance, we bloom.

It makes me think of the lotus reaching toward the light growing in imperfect conditions. I believe we carry that same potential, to grow into our fullest self even through imperfect seasons.

Life is always in motion. Some seasons are full of joy, some are hard, and some ask more of you than you ever thought you had to give. I've been there too.

When things get heavy, I come back to a phrase I repeat to myself often: this too shall pass. It reminds me to soak up the good while it's here, and it gives me the strength to move with the hard times instead of fighting them.

I've learned not to resist what's meant to happen. Everything that comes into your life arrives so you can learn something from it, even when you can't see the lesson yet.

When you stop gripping what you're afraid to lose, or pushing away what you can't control, something softens. There's space again. In that space, I find my way back to who I really am. I hope you do too, to a strength that was in you all along.

And when your energy flows freely, so do the natural gifts you carry. Love, compassion, kindness, and healing move through you, touch the people around you, and then carry on into the universe.

You're not meant to hold everything inside, and neither am I. We're not meant to stay in any one moment forever.

So I'm finding my balance. I'm honouring my journey. I'm trusting the flow.

Find your balance. Honour your journey. Trust the flow.

For the Caregiver Who Snapped Today

You're exhausted. Maybe sick yourself. Somewhere in the day, anger showed up.

Before it did, there was something softer: grief, disappointment, feeling unseen, fear of what's ahead.

Anger is a secondary emotion. It steps in because it feels stronger than heartbreak or vulnerability and you've had to be strong for so long.

So you deal with the anger, feel guilty about it, and never ask what came first.

Next time it rises, pause and ask:

What did I feel right before this?

Name that feeling, and you're no longer managing the anger. You're healing what's underneath it.

You're not a bad caregiver for feeling angry. You're a tired human carrying more than anyone sees. Be gentle with what's underneath.
