βThe truth is β genuine connection is ease. It is peace. When you find it, you will know. You will feel seen, you will feel like you are being mirrored back to yourself, like you are discovering the shadow of your own heart in another human being.
Slowly, through loving the right people, you will come to realize that the human beings who are meant for you in this world will not exhaust you, or hollow you out, or leave you feeling like you are hard to love. Slowly, you will come to realize that you do not have to romanticize the things in this life that hurt. You do not have to run towards the fire. Love does not have to feel like a fight, does not have to feel like battle, does not have to wound.
Slowly, you will learn how to lay down your arms. How to walk away from those who will only ever love you in halves. Slowly, you will learn that you cannot love someone into loving you, or being ready, if they are not. You cannot love someone into their potential. You cannot close their hands around your heart if they are not willing to hold it themselves. You have to let them go. You have to focus on the people in your life who bring you back home to yourself. You have to focus on standing up for that kind of connection, on honoring that calm, because it exists. It exists.β

My friend Michael sent this to me. Itβs posted at a child psychologistβs office in Paris. The translation is this:
Nothing imprisons you except your thoughts. Nothing limits you except your fears. Nothing controls you except your beliefs.
Iβm honored to see it posted, and aware that sometimes my own words are thrown back at me for a reason.

Weβve become conditioned to view the unknown as a scary place β because, in survival, we run from it. But if we can become greater than the body; greater than every element in our outer environment (our 3-D reality), then we can learn to relax into the present moment β and relax into the unknown.
The unknown is where possibility exists. And when weβre in that elegant present moment, our experience of time tends to alter. As we slow our body down, our brain waves also slow down β and that tends to make time seem elongated.
We all can learn how to overcome ourselves β how to slow down our bodies, our brain waves, and our sense of time. When we do, our autonomic nervous system begins to regulate back into order. And, all of a sudden, we have a sense of energy; of euphoria; of freedom, of clarity.
We start feeling more at home; more like ourselves. We forget about all the things we have to do. We forget about what happened yesterday. We stop analyzing and overthinking β which is what we tend to do when we feel threatened; when stress hormones are running high.
When we learn how to find that generous present moment and relax in the unknown β dissociating from our body; our environment; our sense of time β¦ when we disentangle ourselves from the predictable future and the familiar past, we get a reboot in our nervous system.
When we disinvest our attention from our 3-D reality, that's when we enter the unknown. And thatβs when the door to creation β that mystical moment β really opens.

Don't abandon yourself. Not when you're sick. Not when you're tired.
Not when you've lost the thread, the thought, or the thing you thought defined you.
You will die many times in one life and create yourself anew. This is natural. This is a gift.
I've died a few times now here in this world. The person I was: gone.
Throw that older skin into the water. Give it to the sky. Step into what wants to emerge now. Nothing can hold you back when you are willing to be Yourself..

Sacred Dreams
Soul on deck
Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world all at once, but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach. Any small, calm thing that one soul can do to help another soul, to assist some portion of this poor suffering world, will help immensely. It is not given to us to know which acts or by whom, will cause the critical mass to tip toward an enduring good. What is needed for dramatic change is an accumulation of acts, adding, adding to, adding more, continuing. We know that it does not take everyone on Earth to bring justice and peace, but only a small, determined group who will not give up during the first, second, or hundredth gale.
One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires, causes proper matters to catch fire. To display the lantern of soul in shadowy times like these -- to be fierce and to show mercy toward others; both are acts of immense bravery and greatest necessity. Struggling souls catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it. If you would help to calm the tumult, this is one of the strongest things you can do.
