When the Manager behaviours are prominent, one is often considered a control freak or someone who needs a lot of structure. These behaviours are the planners and the organizers that wrap their arms around all others for a safe circle around SELF.
Culture asks for easy, common, ‘normal’, but the reality is, we are each unique so there can be no normal and the illusion of normal is just that, fake.
Firefighters are behaviours that solve the problems as quickly as possible to keep the SELF safe. Many of us exist in our sympathetic nervous system in a continuous state of fight or flight, in which the Firefighter behaviours sound and solve on behalf of keep thing the SELF safe.
Have you ever had a former behaviour pop up and you think - where did that come from??!!! I thought I had dealt with that behaviour and learned a better way!!!
IFS teaches that behaviours can only be added, not subtracted. They go to exile but remain - just in case - for some reason they are needed to keep SELF safe.
The sole purpose of these IFS behavioural categories is to keep SELF safe.

What is the effective course of action? Keep pouring love in hopes that some makes it inside or respect the right of the cup to not receive it ….
It is interesting to ponder, when we think we know something do we ever really if all things are in perpetual change? Perhaps living in perpetual learning is more realistic.
(Thank you to a special and wise friend for this quote. )
While it’s fun to create an analogy, this one is practical too.
Cues:
lay on your back
Place hands on tummy
Lift elbows up and release them to the fall flat
Feel the deep breathes into your diaphragm with your hands.
Most of us look in the rear view mirror and feel uncomfortable with some of what we see. What if instead, we gave ourselves grace and the understanding that without trial, error and struggle, we would not enjoy our own beautiful growth. It is going through struggle, sitting in those feelings and an honest review of self that we are able to adapt the new learning into growth.

Rest and boundaries are critical to our success and well being. REM sleep is when the brain restores. deep sleep is when the body processes and restores. A good way to increase the odds of more time nightly with both REM and deep is to increase the overall rest and sleep time daily. A well rested person is more productive with less elapsed time.
The on Mother’s Day weekend was so well received, we planned two more!!!

How we show up in the space we occupy has a lot to do with how we experience safety.
In all the years I have both thrilled and shook presenting live events, I have always used tools to balance the feels to a state of calm. The most effective method to date has been sitting in the gratitude for the chance to connect and share gifts with each other. Viewing it as a pure exchange of energy and knowledge leaves no room for fear.
Our forest programs teach the benefits of the woods for our bodies, including turning down the human stress hormone.

One mother finds that time in the wild is a great way to teach her daughters to be resilient in a chaotic world.
There is a reason my glasses fog when I’m soaking in the tub, post movement practice. I’m not meant to work on my phone. I’m meant to hydrate and focus on RRR.
