Part #2:🧩
🔷Game changer stretches to relieve pain and tension on tight neck muscles.
🔹These stretches are helpful for office workers who spend a lot of time behind the desk, those who spend a lot time on the phone, moms carrying and feeding their babies, for hairstylists, dentists, dental hygienists, cooks, drivers, houseworks, students, and the list goes on.
🔷Few tips on stretch instruction:
🔹Try to keep whole back tall and straight and move neck to all range of motions one by one.
🔹Move the neck muscles in all range of motions and hold it 5 to 8 seconds then go back to neutral position, relax for 2 seconds, then do the next one.
🔹Do the stretches 3 to 5 reps a day and enjoy the result🍃

How's sinus headache look like?
Sinus headaches come with pain in the forehead, nose, cheeks, eyes, and sometimes the top of the head. In some cases, they also make you feel pressure behind your face. Swelling or an infection inside the sinuses typically is the main cause.
Your sinuses are air-filled spaces inside your forehead, cheekbones, and behind the bridge of your nose. When they get inflamed , usually because of an allergic reaction or an infection, they swell, make more mucus, and the channels that drain them can get blocked. The build-up of pressure in your sinuses causes pain that feels like a headache.
How do you know if you have sinus headaches?
You’ll feel a deep and constant pain in your cheekbones, forehead, or the bridge of your nose. The pain usually gets stronger when you move your head suddenly or strain. At the same time, you might have other sinus symptoms, such as congestion, or a runny nose, inflammation, fever,....
Is sinus headache treatable?
In next slide, we will discuss 20 tips to naturally relieve sinus pain.

As we promised in our
live session about Migraines, we're going to assign Month of October as a month to discuss throughly all kinds of headaches. We will find an answer to all these questions on every single kind of headache:👇🏻
What kind of headache is mine?
How does it look like?
How does it happen?
What are the risk factors?
What are the root causes?
How can we control it?
We're also going to demonstrate exercises, stretches to treat sinus headache, tension headache, & Migraines as a self help tool.
Our main goal is to be more aware of our body signals and find the root causes than treating the symptoms.
Stay tuned
Stay well

@hodafit

09/24/2018

We have been told a story about depression that you are born with a chemical imbalance that requires lifelong medication. The truth about Depression is that it is a symptom and not a disease. It’s a symptom communicated by the body that something is off balance. It’s very similar to when your toe hurts, hurting is a sign that something is wrong with that toe. Likewise, depression is hurting as simple as that. And most of the times, we don’t see depressed people as shown on TV commercials- sitting with lowered gaze, brooding on a couch. In fact, in most cases- depression affects people who are always on the go, very productive but anxious, overly stressed, scatter brained, tired and wired, irritable and forgetful complaining of insomnia.
What are some common causes of depression?
1. Blood sugar imbalances and nutrient deficiencies due to Standard American Diet (SAD)- coffee, cereal/ bagel or muffin on the go, gobbling fast food lunch while working, pizza or restaurant food for dinner.
2. Thyroid imbalances which start a cascade of events in the body affecting the entire hormonal pathway. In most cases, root cause of thyroid imbalances is adrenal fatigue caused by all work and no play.
3. Medication induced depression- Statins, birth control pills, anti hypertensives, Proton pump inhibitors- nexium, prilosec.
4. Food sensitivities or intolerances producing symptoms of anxiety, headache, brain fog, restlessness.
5. Environmental toxins- chemical exposures hampering liver’s capacity to detox.Since there are different underlying causes of depression "one pill for everyone” model doesn’t work. Depression results from bodily imbalance than brain chemical imbalance. We owe most of our mental illnesses to lifestyle factors and undiagnosed conditions that disturb the gut microbiome leading to faulty gut- brain neurochemistry causing dysregulation of immune system.
To heal completely, one needs to approach health with extreme commitment and be willing to work with an integrated practitioner who takes into account all the causative factors and treats the root cause, rather than patch the symptom of depression. The detailed version is availible at https://handsofcareblogspot.ca

07/04/2018

You’ve heard the buzz about “mindfulness,” but you’re not sure what it is or how to apply it to your life.
Turns out, it’s as simple as taking a few moments to focus on yourself.
What Is Mindfulness?
Being mindful means paying close attention to what’s happening in the moment. Put simply, mindfulness is about being present.
It means noticing what's happening inside your mind and in your body.
And it means being aware of what's happening around you.
When you're being mindful, the key is not to label or judge what's happening. Your feelings aren't good or bad. They just are.
In that way, mindfulness is about observing. You notice your life with a little distance, instead of reacting emotionally.
The opposite of mindfulness is being on autopilot. That's when you do things without any thought or consideration.
You're on autopilot, for instance, when you back out of your driveway and head to work on a Saturday when you meant to go to the park.
How Do You Know You're Doing It Right?
You can focus on the present anytime, anywhere: in your car, standing in a line, or at work.
Try “single-tasking.” That's doing one thing at a time and giving it your full attention
Here's how to be mindful when you have a few minutes to yourself and don't need to concentrate on a more pressing task (like driving):
First, pause and focus on your body. Notice what you see and hear. Also, check what you smell, taste, and feel. Don't label these sensations as good or bad. Just let them go.
Then narrow your focus. What do feel in your body? Notice subtle sensations like an itch or tingling. Give each part of your body a moment of your full attention. Start with your head and move to your toes.
Next, be more intent on your breath. Where in your body do you feel it most? Rest your attention there.

Our Story

Imagine being able to heal yourself without medication, risky and unnecessary surgery, or depending on someone. Our holistic alternative medicine therapy will assist you on your journey along the path of health and wellness. Hands of Care is a private practice treating a variety of Orthopaedic conditions arising from sports injury, accidental injury, and repetitive, postural strains from work and daily life. Our therapy module is an integration of Manual Osteopathy, Laser Therapy, Electrotherapy, Physical Therapy, soft and deep tissue along with myofascial mobilization technique, Acupressure, and ,OF COURSE, Diet and Nutritional Counselling. We strive to educate our patients of their injury and provide long-term solutions for joint and muscle pain. Empowering our patients to successfully self-manage their condition and to maintain an active lifestyle is the ultimate goal. Our mission is to promote a healthy physical body for all people at all stages of life by educating them of their condition and by providing long-term solutions for painful orthopedic conditions. We are so proud to be a part of the Manual osteopathic profession because one of our core beliefs is that the body has the power to heal itself. Medicine is always advancing and fascinating, but we are humble enough to admit that God's greatest creation, the human body, can do things that are just unexplainable by science. It is a privilege to be such an integral part in the healing process and have the opportunity to not only save, but also to touch people's lives. As Manual Osteopaths, we can do everything in modern medicine possible, but we get to go a step further; we are taught from day one to treat the patient as a whole. Patients are not just their disease; they are human beings that must be cared for physically, emotionally and spiritually. Think of the Manual Osteopaths as the mixed martial artists of the manual therapy world…. not an art that can be mastered in a couple years but an ongoing transition into a very well rounded and complete system of treatment. We are not limited to one specific method of treating. We combine Physio, Chiro, and Soft tissue in one to treat the patient as a whole. Remember your body wasn’t pieced together. We do joint mobilizations like chiropractors, we do soft tissue work like massage therapists, prescribe exercise like a Physiotherapist, address lifestyle and nutrition like a fitness coach…. The greatest thing about Manual osteopathy is that it enables us to be healers through our two portable hands, without any surgical procedure.
