Last few days have been difficult to say the least. Lots of pain, lots of swelling, lots of bruising. This could last a few more days and then hopefully things will begin to improve 🤞🏼
I’m able to only have soft/puréed foods so I’ve been making the best of it:

Almond Butter Cup Smoothie: 🤤

Almond butter
Oat milk
Oats
Protein powder
Cocoa powder
Bit of maple syrup
Vanilla extract
Cream cheese (cuz trust me)

Goooooood morning!
It’s gonna rain cats & dogs for the next little while; and I’m good with it! Love rain!
Although, it CAN make you a little more relaxed/lazy even, difficult to get out of the house.
Do a home workout instead then? 💪🏼

Today’s rest day. Whether it’s an active one or not; I haven’t decided yet. I may go for a run later. But I also may not, depending on how tired I am after work. Imma play it by ear!

Was feeling zesty this morning and went for 250lb.
Honestly, the body is capable of SO much. It’s truly insane!
You are stronger than you think!
You can do & be so much more than you were yesterday; even just a moment ago.
We are constantly learning, growing..evolving.
Just don’t ever stop aiming for something greater!

What I often have for “breakfast”. 🍯

Breakfast comes at different times for me depending on how I’m feeling in the morning & what I’m working on fitness wise.
I tend to listen to my body in terms of if I’d like to fast for the morning or fuel the body for my workout.
Chia seed pudding is high in protein, full of omega 3s & fiber.
PLUS, I have a bit of a sweet tooth so it’s a nice dessert if I’m craving something on the sweeter side throughout the week.

I use mangos cuz I’m a bit obsessed ever since my pregnancy lol but you’re welcome to add any type of fruit.
I also use maple syrup but you can use honey as well.

*do be mindful if giving it to children that have never had honey before. Honey can be a potential allergen which is why I typically sub it for maple syrup.

Happy Monday loves!

I am spending the day cleaning the house & doing family things.
Last week I had one rest day only (yesterday I did arms) so today I will not be working out. Giving my lower body another day to chill so that tomorrow I can crush it!

It’s a beautiful day outside so I hope you guys go out and enjoy the sunshine!

Rest Days: just as important as the days you push hard.
This is the time your muscles recover & grow!
Today I am focusing on yoga, using my massage gun, hydration & proper nutrition to help my body recover.
It’s incredibly important to listen to your body. If it’s telling you to totally relax & have a lazy day; that’s cuz it needs it. But if you’re craving a more active rest day; go for a walk, do some yoga or bike/rollerblade :)

It’s so annoying when one part of your body lets you down while the rest of you is in beast mode 🙄

First time running a 5k since God knows when. Months and months due to my knee injury.
By the end of the 5k I definitely felt tightness and pain in the knee and therefore had to stop even though I wanted to keep going so bad.
I ran much slower than I am capable of simply not to p**s off the knee joint lol.

Those are the negatives.
The positives are that I ran 5k after taking months upon months off running all together and the pain didn’t start until the very end of the run as opposed to from the get go.
I feel strong running and I love it so much! It’s my time to zone out of the world and live within my mind for a period of time; processing, breathing.

For a runner, showing you my stats is difficult for me because I know how I used to run and how I run now. BUT!!
I think it’s so very important to understand that ANY physical activity is amazing! Doesn’t matter the level you’re at, doesn’t matter if you’re not doing what you used to or that someone may be faster or stronger than you.

YOU are your biggest competition.
YOU are your biggest motivation.

Getting stronger & loving every min of it. 💪🏼

Crushed another day of lower body & definitely feeling myself up my game.
Pressing 238lb today at the end of my spicy workout.
10 reps/5 sets.
I love using the leg press machine at the very end!
Feels sooooo good!

My knee was feeling kinda sore this morning and now the pain is gone after the workout. So happy!

I finally feel some semblance of control over my knee pain. Weight training has been helping immensely and I have been feeling relief after targeting very specific muscles surrounding the knee joint.

I have even been able to run for 20 mins without any discomfort. So we are moving in the right direction! Yay!

I’ve never really worked out with anyone before and am usually in my own head with music blasting in my ears throughout most of my workouts. I have to say that it’s been really awesome to train with my pal @hollydionisi 🥰 there’s something so powerful when it comes to motivating each other! Encouraging each other to keep pushing and working towards our common goal: to get stronger 💪🏼

Proper nutrition & fitness are so so soooo important, especially right now. I hope you guys are taking time for yourselves/for your health out of the day and doing some form of physical activity as well as nourishing the body with all sorts of much needed nutrients!

Tired.
Mentally & physically drained.
Irritable.
Emotional.

Just some of the things that come up for me when I’m overtired due to whatever reason.

This last week has been exactly that..and that’s okay. It’s alright to feel overwhelmed & in need of a breather.
Movement always makes me feel better. I never regret it.
Crushed a 1 hour leg 🦵🏽 & b***y 🍑 workout and feeling amazing about the weeks start.
Pick yourself up and move/breathe through it.

It’s good to be back home; back to my routine.

Taking a week off mentally is fantastic. I noticed how much I’m constantly multitasking, processing and planning classes, scheduling, appointments, etc. And while I love being organized, it can also be so very exhausting.

Going away gave me the much needed time to not have to constantly process and plan.

There’s truly nothing that can relax me more than being in nature.
You begin to notice sound around you that you don’t often hear in the city. The peacefulness of it all is my reset.
I hope y’all had an amazing week!

It’s good to be back home; back to my routine.

I have recently been enjoying going fishing.
I love how peaceful it is.
Being around water has always had a calming effect on on me so I take that time to embrace the silence.
I focus on allowing thoughts to shift through me..and eventually letting them go. Letting go of all that does not serve me; listening to my own breathing. Slowing it down.

And then when I’m not fishing, I frolic like a unicorn 🦄 or a monkey 🐒🙃

Day 6 in a row of hard work put in.
Don’t worry; tomorrow IS in fact rest day haha. And when I say rest day I mean some yin yoga to help the muscles recover.

Tonight was fire. I did a 45 mins workout that, 4 days ago, felt like torture. Tonight, I flew through it. I pushed harder than I’ve ever pushed and I challenged my mind and body in brand new ways. Feeling power like that, improvement, gain in strength; is such a high. You feel like you can literally do anything. It’s incredible.

Then I looked at myself in the mirror and I saw why I felt so strong; I look stronger too.

Proud of my hard work and CONSISTENCY.
Stick to it and you will achieve whatever it is you strive for. You got this!

Did a beautiful power yoga class this afternoon as I felt that I needed to get my sweat on but also needed a stretch.
Ate all the good things today and feeling full of energy!
Feeling a lot stronger in my forearm stand as well which is amazing to feel and see in myself!

Today I listened to my body.
After teaching all morning; I decided to workout and stopped after 30 mins of intensity.

I knew my body has had enough & Instead of half bumming my way through more, I called it.

This week was strong and I’m happy with all I’ve accomplished; I hope you are too! And if not, today’s not over and tomorrow is a new day 😉 get it!

I love seeing what the body is capable of.
I love knowing that I don’t do this for anyone but myself.
Seeing results is SUCH a huge motivator for me to keep going but it’s not the main thing. The biggest motivation is just believing in myself enough to get my ass up off the couch and getting through a workout.
Doesn’t matter how hard, doesn’t matter how long.

MOVE YOUR BODY!
