Learning goes both ways!!
Today, my 4th year optometry extern stepped into the role of clinician while I took the patient’s seat.
We're exploring how controlled direct-current energy can be used in the management of meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) and ocular surface health.
The concept? Targeting the skin and tissue around the eyelids with the goal of supporting healthier gland function and improving tear film stability.
As we explore emerging technologies in dry eye care, it's important to understand not just how a treatment works, but who may benefit, what the evidence supports, and where its limitations lie.
Because great clinical education isn't just about learning new techniques. It's about asking better questions.
