💜 A Little Appreciation Post From the Bottom of My Heart 💜
A year and a half ago, I started Nit Pickers Co. with one simple goal: to help other women and families through a really crappy moment in their lives. Maybe finding lice isn’t exactly life-altering, but anyone who’s been through it knows just how stressful, overwhelming, and emotional it can be.
What I never could have imagined was the impact this little business would have, not only on the community, but on me personally. 💜
Something I’ve come to realize is that my clients aren’t just clients. So many of you have started to feel like family.
Sometimes I’m in someone’s home for hours. We swap stories, share laughs, talk about our kids, our struggles, the hard times, and everything in between. What starts as a lice appointment often turns into something so much more. And I can genuinely say that almost every time I leave someone’s home, my cup feels a little fuller. I’d like to think theirs does too. 🥹
Sometimes I see those same families again a year later. Sometimes it’s a text a few days after treatment, just needing a little reassurance that everything is okay. Other times, it’s a quick head check just to hear those wonderful words, “You’re all clear!” And I love that. I love that families feel comfortable reaching out, asking questions, or simply needing that extra peace of mind. Because to me, this has never been about just treating lice. It’s about helping people feel supported through the whole experience.
These past few weeks have been absolutely booked solid, and I know a HUGE part of that is because of you. The referrals, the recommendations, the kind words, and the trust you continue to put in me.
Every day, this little business continues to grow. I’m bringing on more people, expanding into more communities, and reaching more families than I ever imagined I would. And the best part? I genuinely feel fulfilled by what I do. I get to help people during a stressful time, give them some peace of mind, and hopefully make their day just a little easier.
I don’t think I ever expected that picking bugs out of people’s hair would bring so much meaning into my life, but here we are. 😂💜
