Is there a fee for your services?
Yes. Under the Canada Health Act, NPs are not able to bill OHIP for their services. Therefore, there is no way to fund this type of service. This is why it must be fee-for-service.
Fees are reflective of the type of service rendered to the client and the time of the clinician. This business has been structured to keep costs as low as possible.
You may encounter NPs who are part of a clinic or team that is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. That is why there is no cost associated with their services.
