There is an average of 60,000 out of hospital sudden cardiac arrests in Canada every year - that's one EVERY NINE MINUTES.

Only 1 in 10 survive. Rates increase significantly with CPR and the use of an AED.

Over half of the sudden cardiac arrests occur in individuals under 65 years of age in Canada - I would not have guessed this!

I often hear “I’ll get one of those when I’m older” when talking about AEDs. Did you know folks in the 35-59 age range account for 30-40% of all sudden cardiac arrest cases? I always thought the same; that sudden cardiac arrest was on older problem, risk does go up with age, just those under 60 are still at risk.

Hearing a call on the radio requesting an AED always makes my stomach turn. The reason I started selling AEDs is because I have so many friends that fish lobster.
